Bats for Lashes

"best use of props: bat for lashes at webster hall. do you like wolves? natasha khan does. from the backdrop to the tapestry hanging over her piano, the set was wolf-tastic and so was bat for lashes. ms. khan jumped into a "glass" and followed up with "sleep alone". the crowd was in for some haunting, lush tones from the very first raise of natasha's faux hair sleeves.

natasha didn't talk to much during the set though she responded to an erratic "you're amazing" with an equally erratic "thank you".

encore included: "good love", "moon and moon", "trophy" and karate kid favorite "daniel". [sharocks]

With all of this wolf shit, she needs to to cover "Bark at the Moon" asap!

One Wolf Moon.

You lead off with that anon. quote and that rang true for me too. Good sound on the vocals, which faithfully showcased her emotion and range. The drums had a great thundering sound too.

Hungry Like A Wolf

she was indeed amazing
i was a little miffed though, that she was already playing when i arrived at 9:25?? had no idea this was an 'early show' that would have us all out of there by 10:45.
been a while since id been to webster, but thought the ticket shouldve indicated such an early start/end time since its def not customary for nyc.

Morris the Cat for 9 Lives > Other Lives

uhh, it's your fault for not checking the set times on webster hall. it said 9pm, and webster's set times are usually not delayed.

@sarahspy Ticket said doors at 7, so that means opener at 8 and BFL at 9. Shoulda done the math dum dum.

I actually liked many of the above pics, though perhaps a if there were a couple full-length shots of her dramatic on-stage get-up, it would be even better. I think from the Bat for Lashes site, they have a good video for 'Sleep Alone' from the Jimmy Fallon appearance the night before on the 11th.

I think the photos are great...really captured the feel of the show for me. I watched from the balcony, so it was nice to see photos from the vantage point of down on the floor.

As for Webster Hall, I have to love it because it's just around the corner from my apartment. The sound for this show was the best. Second time I've seen her, same band personnel, and they're a great band...every one of them. The drummer blows me away, and the occasional three-part harmonies are stunning. I was very happy to be able to take a couple of friends who had never heard BFL, and am please that they are now both big fans (of course!)

I saw this show already having Two Suns recording, though based on songs in the set list, I was glad to get a copy of Fur and Gold on vinyl today.
