The Merc show was great, but the set they did at Webster Hall was about the best I've seen from them.

I hope that 11/29 is a Chicago date, perhaps at the Metro or Logan Square Auditorium!

I think you are thinking of Isobel Campbell? or making an even worse joke...

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2009 2:59 PM

Sorry for the mixup...no joke intended.

...And Isobel left B&S after "Storytelling". She was at the first of two shows at Hammerstein in 2002. That might have been the last show she played with them.

Tracyanne and Stuart Murdoch did go out though. Stu produced the "80s Fan" single and took some of the pictures for their album art (such as the cover to "Underachievers Please Try Harder").

Also... B&S drummer Richard Colburn played with CO briefly.

According to B & S book she left after a show in Montreal... either way mid tour.... anyway I never missed her , she definitely was the one who gave the band their sulky reputation... I saw B & S in 2006 and it was one of the most energetic and entertaining shows ever.. but I digress.. Camera Obscura definitely had a lot in common with B & S on their first two records but I think have stepped out on their own with the last two & while comparisons will always be there I think its a bit lazy especially nowadays..
