Dan Deacon is taking things a bit back to basics, with a slew of Fall dates that will feature him performing solo. As he puts it: "Solo tour: expansion of my floor show set, immersive experience, heavy emphasis on visuals."Dan Deacon most recently visited NYC on August 2nd on his 'round robin' tour with Deerhunter and No Age. His 7-week tour with Nuclear Power Pants, which kicks off October 1st, doesn't currently have any NYC stops, but there are stops in Austin, at the Treasure Island Festival, in Ithaca, and at many colleges across the country. I'm sure he's making "serious money" charging $10 at the Echo in LA and playing a pizza parlor in Sacramento.

cornell shows were usually open to the public when i was there... I think IC was the same deal but not 100% sure.

and bands shouldn't be allowed to make money? it's not like some easy thing to go on the road alone away from your friends/family for months. i've never even listened to dan but you should commend him for touring nonstop so his fans can see him. i wish more bands toured all the time.

bands should make as much money as possible while they have the opportunity... because the opportunity doesn't last long.

ithaca college shows were usually only on sale to students, but the public or "townies" always managed to get tickets.
always cheap too
