Dirty Projectors @ Williamsburg Waterfront in July (more by Chris La Putt)
Dirty Projectors

Dirty Projectors' two scheduled NYC shows, November 18th at Bowery Ballroom and November 19th at Music Hall of Williamsburg, have sold out. Luckily the band has announced two more shows at the same venues, happening just days later. The new dates are November 21st at MHOW and Nov. 22nd at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets for the new shows go on sale Friday, August 28th at noon.

UPDATE:
These NYC shows are part of a much larger tour that was announced a few hours after this post went up. Those dates are now below. DP will also be appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman next Monday, August 31st.

They'll spend September in Europe. They've also got a new EP on the way.

Clips of Dave Longstreth in conversation, and playing acoustic in March at Minneapolis's Walker Art Center, and all dates, are posted below...

Ok did Pitchfork help them sell these venues out by giving them near-perfect score on their newest cd or are all the hipsters buying these tickets....

when did they get so huge?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:16 PM

wow..someone sure is full of themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:19 PM

didn't they used to play in interesting places?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:33 PM

I'd rather go to a KISS concert then suffer through this crap.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:42 PM

you guys are all idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:59 PM

they have been a great band for some time now, no doubt pitchfork helps but still...KISS? wow you are sort of lame...

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:03 PM

bitte orcha orcha bitte, bitte orcha orcha bitte

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:04 PM

Bitte Orca will be Pitchfork's album of the year, and everyone else will follow (or already has) loving them blindly. They are good but not THAT good

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:06 PM

you just wait

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:16 PM

sad for them that they have to miss Sonic Youth/Dino Jr. But at least I get 3 DP shows that week on top of Jesus Lizard as well!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:19 PM

we all know the album of the year is Vivian Girls "everything goes wrong".

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:20 PM

YAWNNNNN.

remember when Dirty Projectors were a real band that played real shows?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:39 PM

Dirty Projectors rule my world!!!

Posted by Musicsnobbery | August 27, 2009 3:50 PM

@339..? how are they not a real band? that doesn't play real shows? oh, because now they are exposed to a wider audience?? because now they are more successful? do you hear what you are saying? you people make me sick. get over yourselves.

playing mhow is like playing in jacksonville florida. it might as well not even happen.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:39 PM

glad to be making 4:02 feel ill. like to be like cheap nachos, so wrong and yet so right on.

dirty projectors have completely jumped the shark.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:43 PM

"playing mhow is like playing in jacksonville florida. it might as well not even happen."

that is the oddest thing I ever read. MHOW is my favorite venue.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:49 PM

"when did they get so huge?"

If you are asking this now, you are out of touch

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:50 PM

I'd say playing MHOW is like playing Foxwoods Casino, actually.

Or shit, Mohegan Sun.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:50 PM

"Bitte Orca will be Pitchfork's album of the year, and everyone else will follow (or already has) loving them blindly"

As a blind person, I am offended at this analogy

post updated with full tour dates

Posted by brooklynvegan | August 27, 2009 5:07 PM

wait wait wait....

MHOW is your *favorite* venue? how is that even possible??

the place isn't particularly objectionable, that's true, but that's about the best the thing you could possibly say about it, other than good location.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 5:12 PM

seeing shows at MHOW reminds me of seeing a band play at a theater attached to a community college in suburban denver

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 5:19 PM

don't worry be happy

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 5:25 PM

MHoW is the best small club in New York/Brooklyn

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 8:55 PM

seriously 7:46? you really think anyone believes that you're not the guy who manages mhow for bowery presents?

nobody loves mhow. it's a club as souless as they come.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 9:24 PM

Where's that wack DP video, again? Someone please post a link to it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 2:02 AM

The Dirty Projectors truly jumped the shark when the clown with the annoying voice and huge ego compared himself to William Blake, John Coltrane and Richard Wagner : http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/07/arts/music/07sisa.html

Um, yeah, whatever you say, David.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 2:18 AM

It would almost be kind of cool if they split up each of the two Bowery and MHOW into one electric and one acoustic show at each venue.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 9:49 AM

Ohhh 4:43 yesterday has me smiiiling!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:35 PM

MHOW is a minature Bowery..I like it...

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:44 PM

mhow is larger than bowery

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:57 PM

that is true. 12:44 is stoops. DP are not very interesting to me. apparently, my opinion is wrong.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:16 PM
