Anyone think the Camera Obscura show is gonna sell out quickly? I really hate buying tickets from TM and incurring many dollars extra in service fees.

the Frank Black show would be awesome if he would just let me pick the songs.

I've noticed that you consistently misspell "Royksopp." Fyi.

I would give CO at least a week to sell out.

I think it took two or three weeks for the Bell House show to sell out in March, and that place is smaller than MHOW.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 12:17 PM

I will take a lot longer than 1 week

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 12:20 PM

Fees are only $8.50 total for two tickets to CO..not band.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 12:26 PM

still... if you're going to be down by the merc anyway... that's $8.50 saved!

I don't live in the NYC area..Otherwise I'd pick them up like you recommend.

Mr. Man: May I please have a sandwich?

Sandwich Purveyor: Why certainly Sir, what type of CHEEEEEEEEEEESE would you care for?

Mr. Man: Why, Muenster Sir.

Sandwich Purveyor: Who are you exactly? THE ADAMS FAMILY?!!???!?!?!?!

Camera Obscura's Webster Hall show never sold out. Or maybe it did for a bit and they released more tickets again. I had no problem getting tix the week of the show. I know MHOW is smaller, but Webster is in Manhattan. Also didn't they play like 3-4 shows in the city this year? I don't know how many people want to see them again and again. If it sells out, I'd expect it will close to the date of the show.

What is the deal with the Frank Black show. Is he doing a song or two (not his own) or is it a full set?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 12:43 PM

Camera Obscura have some pretty crazy fans that see them again and again. I'm sure there are a few that are more than happy to see them for the 4th time in NYC this year.

What's wrong with seeing a band 4 times in one year?

Posted by Dead Head | August 21, 2009 1:54 PM

nothing. did i make it sound like there was something wrong with it? the mhow will be the 4th time i've seen CO in ny this year and like the 12th time i've ever seen them. didn't mean anything by "crazy" fans. I'm one of them.

There is nothing cool about playing Bowery

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:35 PM

There is nothing cool.

Atmospherically speaking.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:41 PM

Since tickets are no longer available for DP at Bowery, I went with the MHOW show. I hope it's not the MEHow show of the two.

dirty projectors are a horrible band. not sure why white people like them so much.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:56 PM

@12:07 - I agree! I'd pay for a ticket if he'd play his self-titled debut in its entirety.
