"i am so desperate to get into the bowery show. ive tried every avenue imaginable with zero luck. even bowery staff cant get in unless theyre lucky enough to be working that night. its just sheer craziness down there." - Craigslist person

Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor recently said something along those lines when he was asked why he'd announced his band's current tour would be their last.

Of course, when you say you don't want to be an aging rocker, you inevitably have to compare yourself to someone...

"I'd never want to be Gene Simmons, an old man who puts on makeup to entertain kids, like a clown going to work," Reznor told the Philippines' Daily Inquirer last month. "In my paranoia, I fear that if I don't stop this, it could become that."

Simmons fired back in the Letters From Fans section on KISS' website.

"Trent grew up on KISS and cut his teeth on our toons," he wrote. "When he was recording Downward Spiral, he had two action figures on his mix console -- Jesus and Gene Simmons.

"Once you're a self confessed heroin addict, who used the stuff for years, you don't look at life the way the rest of us do... I'm told.

"We all wish him well." [Chart Attack]

Nine Inch Nails kick off their 10-date, pre-hiatus tour this Saturday night (8/22) at Bowery Ballroom in NYC (with The Horrors). Sunday is Webster Hall (with Horrors), and then Tuesday (Horrors) and Wednesday (Mew) are the shows at Terminal 5. Did you get tickets?

I was shut out of Bowery and Webster.

On Wed they announced more tix were being released via Twitter. Still shut out of Bowery but I snagged one for Webster. So psyched.

i have one ticket for T5 second night... but i just want to see Mew... so if anybody wants to meet me outside after Mew plays, let me know...i can give you my ticket/ wristband / whatever it is....

i grabbed one for Webster sunday as well because of that announcement...very excited..

Do we know Bowery set times?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:21 PM

Anyone know what the Bowery setlist is gonna be?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:23 PM

Anon 2:21, I recommend you do what I plan to do for Webster.

Say fuck all to being sensitive about set times and get there EARLY. I can only imagine there is going to be long lines and a bit of chaos, especially with the paperless ticketing and scalpers letting other people in on their behalf etc.

Posted by noamjamski | August 21, 2009 2:24 PM

i will blow you for a ticket. i have a pretty mouth. promise.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:32 PM

I hope he really does retire. A world where we don't have to hear Trent Reznor whining about Twitter and forums is infinitely preferable.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:32 PM

deal... are you a guy or a girl?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:37 PM

Does it really matter?

deal... are you a guy or a girl?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:41 PM

how much were the tickets at face value?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 2:49 PM

throw your nine inch hotdog down my hallway for a ticket to the show.

Posted by hipster grifter | August 21, 2009 2:50 PM

about $70 bux face value

Posted by annie momus | August 21, 2009 2:51 PM

I wouldn't pay $20

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:06 PM

^^
Hahaa, me neither. I can't believe how inflated and ridiculous the going market prices are for this show. Guess the emo kids didn't get the memo that NIN went out of style with the Downward Spiral...

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:09 PM

Does anyone have the set list from the show?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:13 PM

this show will be great
i got two for tomorrow and according to what i read on the message board people will be lining up since 10 am
i plan on getting there around 6, the venue is small enough that anywhere is a good spot, plus being tall has its advantages

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:13 PM

Wait, The Horrors are back in town? Great I can go off of my ambien. Hooray!

Posted by Lux Inferior | August 21, 2009 3:19 PM

Let alone 10AM, even getting there at 6PM is insanity. Have you ever been to Bowery Ballroom? Are you all 15 year olds? Get there 10 minutes before they are scheduled to go on and you'll be fine. You'll still have pretty much the same view as the idiots who lined up at 10AM.

When time does Trent Reznor's Family Jewels come on?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:52 PM

who has $2000 to spend on a concert ticket?

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 3:56 PM

Who is insane enough to think that anyone else would spend that much, and actually try to get that sum for it?

Posted by Funderburgh | August 21, 2009 4:02 PM

dude, I had buyers regret shelling out $60 for these, so $2000 I can't even image, I'd probably want to shoot myself...

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 4:05 PM

i think some1 already bought a ticket to the bowery show for a couple thousand

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2009 4:15 PM

I was a huge fan, but he has been treating his fan like crap. His fans have given him everything he has. He has forgotten that. He needs to take a look how things when wrong. He being open about being in love did not help because the girl he is with is also rude and porno dirty. Fat comments are not funny or kind. She's seeking attention for herself made this situation even more ugly. The damage it done, sorry but true. He could endeavor to not be a complete horses ass, but it is too late.

You people are hilarious. What the FUCK does a musician's personal affairs have to do with how his or her music affects you? Get your own life.

t. The jukebox exploded into another happy song, indistinguishable to my ignorance from the others, and the grim field workers at other tables nearly smiled, while the dancing couples on the metal floor grew livelier, and several men shouted along with the singer. Even Lupe, who trudged bitterly through life, cheered up when he heard this corrido, which was naturally so loud that he had to shout into my ear for me to apprehend that it dealt with the demure lady friend of a wanted drug lord who happened to be absent when two federales visited their residence,
