"No mention of the Oasis break-up???"

Oasis

A STATEMENT FROM NOEL
28 August 2009

"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."

The title of this post is from an email I just received. Below that is a funny tweet, and below that is a statement from Noel.

"old news"

You are correct - hence the title of the post, and as confirmed by the date of Noel's statement printed above.

You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, you can pick your friend's nose BUT you can not pick your family (or their nose(es) without being weird).

i feel like everyone hates oasis, but i've always loved them. they have a few shitty albums, yes, but some really fucking good ones too. sad to see them go.

The world is a much better place without these douchebags.

They needed to schedule some down time before they break out the big Reunion tour in about 5 years.

Good career move. The only thing that will resurrect their fading career is to break up and then reunite.

I heard they were bigger than the Beatles.

Noel is pulling a Twent Weznor!

Oasis will be UNDEAD very soon!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 10:54 AM

Oasis are a great band. I think Noel will do a solo album now and hopefully Oasis will be back together sometime in the future again.

Saw many Oasis shows over the last 15 years and they were among the best shows ever.

Once again, bands that sell millions of records can be great, contrary to hipster theories.

I heard Liam wouldn't agree to play in Brooklyn every weekend or allow Noel to expand the band to include someone to play the I-pod. Liam just has no idea what makes a good band.
