Rokia Traoré tour cancelled (no BAM or Lincoln Center)

If you showed up to Metrotech at noon today, you probably noticed that Rokia Traoré wasn't there. In fact, her entire U.S. tour was cancelled this time around. Zap Mama played the free afternoon show today instead, and Meshell Ndegeocello takes her place at Friday night's free Lincoln Center Out of Doors show (8/7).

why was the whole tour cancelled?

I have been waiting for a long time for her next appearance here in the US. My daughter and friends were so excited about the NY dates and I organized a group to see her show tonight in Los Angeles. I saw her in the Billy Holiday tribute at UCLA. All the other women headlining the show were large, big voices, big bodies. Except for her.The audience was knocked out by her voice and stage presence. She even had Dianne Reeves dancing along with her during her set. Completely won over the crowd. They were talking about her after the show. Too bad. When is she coming to the West Coast, and what happened that she cancelled her USA tour?
