Was there no way to avoid the Jets conflict?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:11 PM

Nice...now i can see U2 wednesday and Phoenix or Julian Plenti on Friday!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:12 PM

U2 stage set-up is really elaborate so they probably needed more time to break it down and set-up the field for the Jets game on Sunday.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:14 PM

Why don't they move the Jets to Wednesday instead!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:23 PM

why don't they move bono's giant head to the south pole?! Most people would thank them.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:27 PM

^^that's amusing

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:28 PM

Uhh, anyone want my YYY's tix for 9/23 now? Fuck.

Posted by Funderburgh | August 27, 2009 1:29 PM

1:29 NNN sorry!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:38 PM

Yeah all those YYYs and Moby tickets will be on sale.

Like we need another reason to hate the JETS.

Posted by E | August 27, 2009 1:44 PM

They need to make room for Bono's MASSIVE ego!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:44 PM

on guitar: the MEHdge

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 1:50 PM

Oh good, so my friend who bought a plane ticket to fly in Friday for the show is now screwed. Thanks, Jets.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:10 PM

funniest MEH comment to date at 1:50

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:20 PM

the Jewts?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:21 PM

2:10 for $75 on most airlines you can change your airline ticket...so he is screwed out of $75...

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:28 PM

2:28 Thanks for the info. I'm not sure that my friend is able to come in on an earlier day, so I don't know if that means he'll eat the ticket cost.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:30 PM

Lots of folks were coming from out of town for this and for them this sucks. They may be able to get their money back for tickets but the money laid out for hotels and travel will not be able to be recouped easily.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:34 PM

thanks 2:20 :D
i've done a handful of MEH-related posts, try to never force it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 2:34 PM

They should just move Bono's ego to the North Pole. I have a feeling no one would complain!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:01 PM

will Muse still open for them?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:10 PM

I FUCKING HATE U2, THE GIANTS, THE JETS, THE MEADOWLANDS AND NEW JERSEY
FUCK THEM ALL

Posted by TOM | August 27, 2009 3:23 PM

Like we need another reason to hate the Jets and the religious fanatics...

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:25 PM

I don't care for (American) football, but doesn't the NFL have games on Christmas? Why would Jews care if there is a game on Yom Kippur?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:33 PM

fuck U2.......and their fans

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:35 PM

because they are oppressed, just ask them

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:36 PM

The NFL's the higher God.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:40 PM

they shoulda just moved the Jets game to 1969, they didn't suck that year...

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 3:52 PM

The reason the Jets game was moved was because it interfered with Yom Kippur... and a lot of Jewish folk had season tickets to these games and did complain...

I say bravo

Posted by jason | August 27, 2009 4:02 PM

Fuck U2....you would think this would have been planned ahead of time.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:18 PM

Because the world revolves around the Jews

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:25 PM

Because the world revolves around the Christians.

@ 3:10

Yes - MUSE is still opening. The opener for the US shows that are before the ones at Giants Stadium is Snow Patrol, and they are already at the Beacon Theater on 9/23 (as well as the night prior).

While we're here -

MUSE > Snow Patrol
NY/NJ > MA
Coke > Pepsi

Posted by Funderburgh | August 27, 2009 4:41 PM

so wait, the NFL can schedule games on Christmas, but shift Yom Kippur start times for the J-E-W-S Jews!Jews!Jews! ?

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:54 PM

Bono is a jersey jew who plays for the MEHts.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 4:58 PM

Shomer shabbos!

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 5:20 PM

The Jets' Jewish season ticket holders should have bitched about wasting money on Favre last year.

THERE WILL BE A CANDLE LIGHT VIGIL TONIGHT TO MOURN THE SENSELESS MURDER OF MARY JO KOPECHNE (AND HER UNBORN CHILD) ... COME CELIBRATE THE LIFE OF A TRUE AMERICAN HERO AND CONTRIBUTOR ... THIS FRIDAY, CORNER OF 57TH AND BROADWAY, 10 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 8:56 PM

"the NFL can schedule games on Christmas, but shift Yom Kippur start times for the J-E-W-S"

I agree. I guess Jewish holidays are more important than Christian ones according to the NFL.

Posted by Anonymous | August 27, 2009 8:59 PM

This is BS. I cant believe they would inconvenience so many people just like that.

I always wanted to see U2 in concert. I cant now coz of this shit. one less u2 fan thats for sure.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:46 AM

This is ridiculous. I've been a fan since first hearing them on All That You Can't Leave Behind back in 2000 and this was going to be my first live show. I can't believe they screwed their fans over like this...especially since the JETS had rescheduled back in April. I don't make much money and the recession has been tough on me for sure. This is what I had been saving up for...was going to be a bit of a break from all the negativity but guess not. Unbelievable...

Posted by John Denning | August 28, 2009 8:26 PM

Totally agree with John. Yom Kippur has been scheduled for over 3000 years (literally). Couldn't the Jets have seen this coming? Now I can't see my favorite band live for the first time. Another reason to hate the stinky Jets.

One of my long standing dreams was to attend a U2 concert live. . I know all the words of their songs by heart …well they are performing this year. Next weekend I’m going to visit my sister and we will attend them; I've got U2 tix from Ticketsinventory.com, so I'll be analyzing as well as enjoying the concert.

Posted by louise | September 14, 2009 10:20 AM

shut the hell up louise you spammer and dare i say twat.

Posted by Anonymous | September 14, 2009 10:42 AM

Tickets are back on sale through Ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2009 2:38 PM

I WAS a fan of U2 for years, and this was also going to be my first live show seeing them, now after they screwed me over I don't even want to listen to them anymore. They where good but not that good to pay so much money per ticket only to get frustrated and lost time and money and be disappointed.

Fuck U2, and they're stupid fan club I had to signup for to get the tickets before they sold out, and Fuck the Jets and Fuck Yom Kippaur, and oh yeah Fuck New Jersey while we're at it!

Yes, the games always have precedence... It makes sense i na way considering the audience they get.
