Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:13 AM

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:14 AM

guess you'll have to wait until friday to get tickets like the rest of the world- it can't be completely sold out yet, rcmh holds a lot of people

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:14 AM

orchestra singles are still available as i type.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:17 AM

just got 2 in orch...20 secs ago

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:20 AM

got 2 in orch as well. first shot was 2nd mezz, dropped those and got orch.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:22 AM

Try again. Tons avail. Got three pairs.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:24 AM

what a bunch of losers

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:27 AM

do people actually stay in their seats at RC or can you stand in the aisles

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:29 AM

People are forced to stay in their seats. It's lame.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:31 AM

@1114 oh fuck you! and i got tix, thank you. orchestra row PP.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:32 AM

I got two in Orch PP towards the side on the first try, considered dumping and trying again, but decided to keep and I'm glad I did because I have struck out since.

Lots of tix still available come Friday I'm sure...

Lastly - 11:13 is right, you need one of those special high end AMEX's to qualify for that (i.e. Black, Gold, maybe Platinum). No JetBlue AMEX is getting you shit there.

Posted by Funderburgh | August 12, 2009 11:32 AM

people who get excited about seeing them at that venue are true losers

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:33 AM

Just got two orch tickets, not prime but not in the boondocks. Had to keep refreshing and retrying.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:34 AM

I got 2 orch seats. Yea, it's not gonna be great since RHMC is way too big.... Imagine, the stage can fit the whole production of the Christmas Spectacular...Now imagine just 4 people on stage.... Yea, they'll squishable with my fingers.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:38 AM

11:33 stfu, you classless bastard.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:39 AM

@1133 yeah its sooo not punk rock fer sure. glad you signed on just to shit on this show. thanks, without your comment this bv posting wouldn't have half as much indie cred as it does now.

Says the guy with nothing better to do than sit on Brooklyn Vegan all day and tell people they are losers for trying to get tickets to shows. That isn't sad or anything.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:43 AM

I went to Dark Was The Night at Radio City and thought the sound was certainly very professional, but it was almost kind of icy and clinical too. Even so, Bon Iver with My Brightest Diamond sounded amazing. I am spoiled by smaller venues, though, if you like an artist, no harm in seeing them pretty much anywhere, though I will pass on this event.

Posted by Rock It Like A Rockette | August 12, 2009 11:43 AM

11:33AM, you are the true loser and the sad thing is you don't even know it.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:54 AM

who the fuck would want to go see them in that large of a venue anyway?

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:06 PM

I would love to go to this show, it sounds so epic.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:07 PM

Honestly -- the band is larger than life and the venue is larger than life. You can't deny that. There is no way that this show is going to be anything less than amazing -- simply BECAUSE of the scale of it. Karen O can fill up 10 rooms.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:09 PM

they're literally still available.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:20 PM

i hope a lot of scalpers are picking these up.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:24 PM

I snagged 2 right at 11. I'll take $500 each for them.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:27 PM

12:09, There are a ton of dimwits on this thing who over hype beyond belief but you take the cake. You are absolutely stupid.

11:33 is actually right on the money.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:29 PM

Karen Blow

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:34 PM

hahahaha how the f did I pull PIT AAA tickets after I went on here and saw these comments? Un-effing-believable!!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:38 PM

I will wait until they play Maxwell's or Webster Hall again
this is no venue for a band of their kind
and I agree with 11:33 you are all losers, and you know it! i am sure you will show up with your stupid hipster outfits and sing the two songs you know, the ones your friends had in their iPods

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:41 PM

Meh Meh Meahs.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:45 PM

Same here 12;38. Unfuckingbelievable!

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 12:54 PM

were those pit seats pairs or singles?

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 1:04 PM

Pairs.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 1:04 PM

what is the point of a YYYs show where you are forced to stay seated --- oh, wait. The last album is perfectly set for that.

Posted by amphibian | August 12, 2009 3:07 PM

What is the point of seeing this band at all? They are just not good.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 3:22 PM

I'll wait for the Giants Stadium gig.

Posted by drewo | August 12, 2009 3:28 PM

What's wrong 3:22? Shut out of the presale?

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 3:45 PM

I saw them 2 weeks ago in Philly at The Electric Factory which is similar to Terminal 5. They were good but it was way too big a venue for this band. Radio City will eat them alive. As 11:43 described "icy and clinical", that's how a lot of shows come off at RC. I have seen around 10-15 shows there over the years.

Posted by Anonymous | August 12, 2009 11:41 PM

the thing is, while the YYY will fucking rock Radio City, if you REALLY want to see them and have a great time, either see them in a smaller venue or in a Festival Setting. If you have shitty seats and are in the Mezzanine or a really far back Orchestra Seat, it wont be the same.....you`ll end up staring at the projected screen the whole time since you can barely see anything. I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Karen O, but unless I get front row seats....its not worth it.

Posted by Nadeem Bacchus | August 13, 2009 12:55 AM

security at RCMH ruins the shows for me total power-tripping assholes.

however I imagine if you're 14 or 15 and this is your first concert this is pretty exciting stuff. I won't rain on your parade.

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2009 10:18 AM

Power-tripping assholes? That sounds a bit excessive. Radio City is not some shit hole club in Brooklyn where every other flash in the pan, trendy new group cuts their teeth. It's a beautiful venue, with pretty solid sight lines throughout, and pristine sound. It's steeped in history, and the YYYs should be honored to play there, frankly. (I'm shocked that they are)

Whether it's an appropriate billing or not is another story altogether. Hope those that go enjoy.

Posted by Anonymous | August 13, 2009 10:46 AM

What's the point of seeing things live? Everyone is a loser but me.

And the security there is always on a power trip, I've had to talk to managers three separate times about security that were acting insane and treating people like shit. Every time the manager wasn't surprised at all either. Doesn't make me feel better about possibly getting them fired, but don't get into a position of power just for the abuse.

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2009 2:06 AM

you are all nonknowers!

Posted by heynow | August 17, 2009 8:14 PM

There are always some out there to find criticism no matter what. Any band would be honored for the opportunity to play one of the all time great venues. Some of you are jealous of others successes because of your own failures and inadequacies. If you do not like the YYY's music, do not listen to them. End of story. Personally I think the trio are magnificent and are deserving of this chance. RCMH WOW! I have seen many shows there, and the acoustics are awesome. The security is not that strict, you could stand and even dance in the aisles or the lobby! The only caveat would be if the place is not sold out. Then it could be a cavernous place for a band. However, YYY's will sell out, and for the naysayers all I have to say to is Heaven Help the Fool!

Posted by Dark Star | August 17, 2009 8:27 PM

Dark Star said it the best!

Posted by August West | August 18, 2009 1:01 PM

I don't like the YYYs, so I don't listen to them, nor do I go to their concerts. Works out great, actually!

Posted by Anonymous | August 18, 2009 1:05 PM

What was the purpose of your post (anonymous August 18 1:05pm)? Are you that self centered that you actually think anyone would care about an anonymous post saying that you do not like YYY's and that it works out great for you? Some of these people are amazingly stupid!

Posted by Heads All Empty | August 19, 2009 12:53 PM

Head apparently IS all empty! Hahaaaa!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 19, 2009 3:10 PM

Thanks 8/19 3:10pm.....I was hoping some idiot would respond to that....bait in the water for dumb guppies....never factual arguments....you have made my day!

Posted by Heads All Empty | August 23, 2009 10:54 AM

More YYY at RCMH tix released now on TM.

Posted by drewo | September 22, 2009 4:30 PM

Posted by Anonymous | September 22, 2009 4:45 PM

Attention all Naysayers! The concert was awesome.....the sound and visuals were unbelievable. One of the best shows I have ever attended. And........nobody was sitting...everyone danced and swayed for the entire show. Congrats to the YYY's
