Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:09 PM

I was on as soon as they went on sale and they were gone instantly.

Posted by Travis | August 28, 2009 12:09 PM

Got my Sunday DP tickets..... Sunday. Bowery. ohhhhyeah

Posted by jason | August 28, 2009 12:09 PM

yeah i got screwd too...the captcha monster got me...

Posted by george | August 28, 2009 12:10 PM

Yeah for fucking serious, did anyone actually get YYYs tickets??

Posted by jesse | August 28, 2009 12:10 PM

I managed to get a pair for Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It's a fucking miracle. I never have luck getting tickets for shows that sell out that fast.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

BULLSHIT!!! This is retarded, fucking Ticketbastard!!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

YYY sold out in literally one second.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

Yeah! got my YYYs! At first it came up sold out... but I tried it again a few times. Maybe on the fifth try, they came up. Sweet!

Posted by wembley | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

they went on sale @ 11:58

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

"YYY sold out already??"

Why would this surprise you?

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

No YYY tickets on TM's via phone. Usually that comes through for me over the website.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:11 PM

Got mine, kept on refreshing the ticketmaster page until it showed!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:12 PM

Ridiculous. I didn't get tickets, I can't believe that they sold the full amount of tix for Music Hall. No way, I was ready to go, typed captcha in as fast as I could. No tix. I HATE ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:12 PM

yyys gone by noon. at least i got dp at bowery.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:13 PM

ticketmaster is bullshit. YYYeahs tickets for Music Hall must have sold out in like 15 seconds. knowing these companies though they'll probably just add another show at Terminal 5 a few days later. f*ckers.

Posted by rc | August 28, 2009 12:14 PM

they didnt go on at 11:58 I was trying constantly since 11:55. trust me you didnt get them at 11:58 your watch must be off.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:14 PM

I got two. If you keep trying, tickets often open up because of rejected cards or time-outs. I've scored a lot of tickets 15 or so minutes after it's declared sold out. You just have to be persistent.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:14 PM

Didn't even bother trying for YYY at Music Hall. I knew Ticketmaster would fuck me in the ass. I tried for Tegan and Sara at Town Hall and after a six minute battle of "sold out" bullshit, they offered me sixth row orchestra aisle seats. Who ever is in charge of that company is probably more douchey than every BV poster combined.

Posted by Matt | August 28, 2009 12:14 PM

call yer congressmen & senators, it's like bruce all over again.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:15 PM

eh, i'm sure they'll release more at the door like they usually do for mhow

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:15 PM

12:11- not surprised that they sold out at all, just surprised that they sold out within seconds... seems shady

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:15 PM

Don't worry YYY's will add more MHOW shows.

Posted by Venkman | August 28, 2009 12:15 PM

Stupid Ticketmaster took 3 minutes to process captcha until it gave me an error message.

Should be plenty of scalpers selling tix in front of venue night of since you can only pick up tix the night of the show.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:16 PM

btw... I have been noticing that those words you have to type in? don't have to be correct.

I did it twice last week where I was a letter off and it let be buy. wtf?

Posted by jason | August 28, 2009 12:16 PM

You got DP at Bowery? Damn, that place has gotten ALOT more hard core since I've been there last.

I managed to score tix for YYY. Not sure how, but I lucked out.

Posted by DC | August 28, 2009 12:16 PM

I bet they held most of the YYYs tix for industry and friends.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:17 PM

clusterfuck

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:17 PM

i kept hitting refresh, selected as soon as available, and nothing

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:18 PM

yyy ...nnn

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:19 PM

yeah you are right you can miss a letter and it still goes in.

guys - keep on trying once i got tickets to a show 45 minutes after it "sold out"

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:19 PM

managed to get 1 at 12:11pm. sometimes it pays to keep plugging away.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:21 PM

Pulled up a single at 12:13. Keep trying!

Posted by Qbertplaya | August 28, 2009 12:22 PM

i just got 'debts psychological' is ticketmaster trying to tell me something??

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:23 PM

no meh jokes yet?

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:26 PM

while trying to order Dirty Projectors tickets for the Bowery, my captcha read "overrated". true story

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:26 PM

all gone.. damn.. was sold out in seconds!! literally. I bet this was meant as an INDUSTRY event.. they probably sold 50 tickets to the people that actually wanted to see them.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:27 PM

i think its just clogged up.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:28 PM

look on the bright side, you just saved yourself 30 to 60 bucks plus fees!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:30 PM

"while trying to order Dirty Projectors tickets for the Bowery, my captcha read "overrated". true story"

haha true!

Posted by bobby the rookie | August 28, 2009 12:30 PM

this is fucking gay. i want to kill ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:32 PM

rape

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:35 PM

People still like the Meh Nah Nah's? I thought I found them in the Strokes washed up bin at OM.

Posted by nsfw | August 28, 2009 12:39 PM

meh-ow

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:42 PM

I didn't get any tickets, but ticketmaster's authentication-word system is starting to seem like random band name generator. Look out for February Shaman!

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:45 PM

12:45, great idea. How about Mimes 1971?

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:48 PM

I've got about 20 tickets for sale to the YYY show at Music Hall of Williamsburg..No offers under $150.00 will be considered..cheers

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:52 PM

If you're looking for those MHOW tickets, apparently you'll find them here:

http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/tix/1346864872.html

People are shitty.

Posted by scum | August 28, 2009 12:58 PM

if someone pays $150 for YYY's, u may as well put a shotgun in your mouth and pull the trigger with your toe.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:59 PM

how does scalping 20 tickets to a will-call only show work?

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 12:59 PM

Someone should complete the transaction by punching that guy in the face and taking their money back Sopranos style.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:00 PM

Ticket scalping glory days are over. Too many shows with already-high face value ticket prices, and too many concertgoers who have no disposable income.

12:48 will have to settle for about $50 apiece for his will-call tix.

Posted by drewo | August 28, 2009 1:00 PM

Flag them on Craig's List and they'll be removed.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:05 PM

maybe it was that security guy from Bowery who got the back door entry...

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:10 PM

Does it make a difference if you picked "Best Available" or "GA"? Just wondering for those who somehow "miraculously" managed to tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:11 PM

They probably released about 450 tickets so if one person buys a pair....thats only 225 people getting tickets out of probably 5000 people that tried to get them at noon?

You do the math....that's about 4.5% chance!

Don't worry kids, they will be playing at Bowery and Mercury Lounge soon.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:19 PM

From Ticketmaster website on the YYY's onsale page:

PLEASE NOTE: Tickets for this event can only be picked up at will call on the night of the show. Tickets will not be mailed. All purchasers must present a government-issued photo ID. Tickets are non-transferable and you MUST enter the building upon receipt of your tickets. There is a two (2) ticket limit for this event. The ticket limit will be strictly enforced. Exceeding the limit will result in cancellation of your tickets without prior notice.

Seems about as scapler-proof as the NIN shows were

Posted by Funderburgh | August 28, 2009 1:21 PM

I always do "best available". Dropping down to "GA" just wastes time.

Posted by wembley | August 28, 2009 1:29 PM

Crimony. Are you all rookies? Check TM the day of the YYYs show. After noon. There will be more on sale. Or just show up and buy one FOR FACE OR LESS from some asshole who thought they could make a fortune on their extra

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 1:41 PM

my Ticketmaster Captcha was

KENNEDY burrien

seems topical

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 2:02 PM

I tried to get tickets, but I also didn't realize it was $30. Thirty bucks? It's your home town! Sheesh.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 2:04 PM

They will be adding shows at Maxwell's shortly...

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 2:49 PM

Wow..good thing I went to the Santos show when I had the chance.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 3:06 PM

Is that maxwells rumor legit? That'd be better the MHOW in some aspects.. yet also would probably sell out twice as fast.

Posted by Kevin | August 28, 2009 3:22 PM

i'm no ticketmaster fan, but why is this ticketmaster's fault? probably 350-400 tickets available and a couple thousand people all refreshing their computer and typing as fast as they can to get tickets. that means demand far outweighs supply, which in turn means there will not be enough tickets for everyone. pretty simple stuff here.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 4:19 PM

yeah whats the big deal? and as much as ticketbastard sucks, livenation is a million times worse, so just be thankful we didnt have to buy tickets through them

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 4:26 PM

because ticketmaster sucks in just about every single way, so if this shit storm is only remotely their fault, it's perfectly reasonable to hate them even more. for example, the captchas are so random that the simplicity of your captcha probably determined whether or not you got tix. if you got punctuation in yours, forget it...

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 4:57 PM

^^^
yeah, maybe. but it is going to come down to luck. maybe its just the luck of the computer or the luck of the captchas but again, when thousands of people are trying to get hundreds of tickets at the same time most will be unlucky (like me in this case) and a few will be lucky. ticketmaster got nuthin to do with it, we're talking maths here.

now, if we want to be fair, the bands shouldn't put these special shows online and make them in person box office only (a la the white stipes at irving plaza a couple years back). then most dedicated fans get there hours early and score tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 5:24 PM

5:24,

The problem with that is, in NYC, most venues are located in places where retailers, restaurants, etc. don't want a bunch of mongoloids loitering around on the street all day blocking entrances/exits to buildings. That's why you don't see many "line up at the box office" type sales.

Posted by Anonymous | August 28, 2009 6:43 PM

I managed to get a pair right at noon time. It seemed so easy since it's one of a handful of times I didn't get dicked from TM. Went to double check for tickets again and bam, they were gone. You'd think Radio City would satiate the need?

Posted by Darkness | August 28, 2009 7:57 PM

I heart Tegan &
Sara.
