Wasn't Sub-Pop scaled back last year too? Not terrible for Merc.

All the Mercury CMJ lineups are on the site. Friday looks good.

"Wasn't Sub-Pop scaled back last year too?"

I think every label and company involved scaled back because they realize how fucking meaningless this festival is.

college radio is not meaningless. this is all college rock ... if it was 1995

CMJ is beyond weak this year.

Posted by Anonymous | September 21, 2009 10:59 PM

BV has not announced his shows yet. No pressure, but we need you to save this year's CMJ.

Unmistakeable sign that CMJ is worse this year than ever before: noone's even bothering with an "anti-CMJ" this year

Posted by Anonymous | September 21, 2009 11:17 PM

Obits & Pissed Jeans are always good live. but they've also played on better bills before.

Mike Sniper gets really defensive if you shit on this new pet project of his. He's fucking the DDG singer.

Posted by Anonymous | September 23, 2009 12:06 PM

mike sniper is kinda prickish. he rips off allot of stuff from obscure bands from the 80's. oh well.

I think you need a bit more of a story with this as this isn't really a news story in its current form. Perhaps you could write about why you like Michael so much?

Yeah, CMJ sucks this year, I guess, but I'm actually psyched for some of the showcases. The Serious Business Records showcase is always pretty solid bet. Better than this shit.
