Les Savy Fav

Knitting Factory's move to Brooklyn is finally complete and the doors are open. After a friends and family performance-less soft opening on Tuesday, Les Savy Fav truly broke in the place with one of the band's trademark bonkers performances on Wednesday evening (9/9). Comedian and new SNL writer Hannibal Burress warmed up the attentive, approximately-250-capacity crowd with a solid 20 minute set. The room was full, but never too packed. Bill wrote a little bit more what it was like inside on the previous night.

Check it out tonight (9/10) when Boss Hog hits the Brooklyn stage (with Shilpa Ray opening). On Saturday, Boss Hog perform at ATP in Monticello. Full Knitting Factory schedule HERE.

Anyone else get royally screwed by the Manhattan bound L Train last night?

The sound was phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. Good sight lines too. The place is really awesome

did Tim lose weight?

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 2:36 PM

Who exactly were the special guests? The free posters?

Does anyone care about LSF anymore? Seriously? Looks like most of the Knitting Factory bookings so far are shit:

MC Chris
Melissa Auf De Mauer (seriously?)
Titus Andronicus (cuz they never play BK)

Only good shit is NNCK and The Raincoats (they might be shit though - reunions and all).

you couldn't find 11 more pictures for this one? i think every post about shows yesterday should have 99 photos.

^^2:43^^

Yeah, people do still care about LSF, jackass. That's why the show sold out so quickly.

Tim looked like he lost a little waste. free LSF numbered prints which was pretty nice. After the first 6 songs when they ironed out the P.A. the sound was great. Really easy to see the band from just about anywhere in the room. $4 Stella on tap

Venue was awesome. If they get a good booking groove going I'll be psyched.

Posted by noamjamski | September 10, 2009 2:55 PM

LSF: no one really cares, but they're still a good time. Their last record was garbage, but I'd still see them live if someone bought me a ticket.

Dude fuck you, love LSF, love Titus.

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 2:59 PM

2:58 knows what's up. LSF are good for a laugh, but seriously they have been on that shtick for a good decade. Time to pack it in guys.

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 3:02 PM

holy Santa Clause shit!

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 3:09 PM

any extra posters left?

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 3:13 PM

there was a huge pile of the center poster left... who knows what happened to it though...

when i attend shows/look at pics from shows in brooklyn i'm always dumbfounded that within the creative enclave of the city all the males wear the same dull uniform (and not just the clothing, but the hair, facial hair, fucking eye glasses, sneakers, etc.). that is not to say that they should all be dressed in the latest mode, but seriously YOU ALL LOOK LIKE THE SAME PERSON.

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 3:37 PM

If Tim would just shave his head, he'd be a proper bear. Sweet body though

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 3:38 PM

costume change?! omg... i just came in my pants.

Posted by Anonymous | September 10, 2009 4:44 PM

Did anyone get a pick of when Tim was on the bar giving an audience member a massage while the audience member held the mic up for Tim? I was the guy getting the massage and would love to see a pic.

You can say that again. Maybe all from the same gene pool? Schools, stores, the four different neighborhoods in the area, and the same incestuous arts & music. Oh, dont forget the tight black pants.
