Ra Ra Riot

Yellow Bird Project presents a performance by Elvis Perkins and DJ Set by members of Ra Ra Riot in celebration of the release of their Indie Rock Coloring Book. Books and shirts will be available, cash bar. All proceeds benfit the Yellow Bird Project and its network of charities as well as Housing Works. Tickets are $15, and guarantee only standing room, as seating is limited and first-come-first-served. Beer, wine, coffee, and snacks will be available.
It appears that tickets are still available for tonight's previously-announced show (9/2). A whole new set of pictures of Ra Ra Riot from the first day of this year's All Points West Festival (where the band did more than DJ), and all tour dates, below...

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cello.

Seriously. More Cello.

Personally, I much prefer the cellist than the cello, but who am I do question your love of wood.

Great photography. I am actually stalling for time over an hour or so before the Elvis Perkins at Housing Works reopens for tonight's show at the Apple Store in SOHO.

Princeton plays Union Hall the day before that tour begins, and both Maps & Atlases and Princeton play new Knitting Factory the day after that tour ends - why aren't Ra Ra Riot playing NYC on either date?

Is it because they 'just' played NYC area for APW? That will have been over a month ago when the tour starts, and more than two months ago when the tour ends, well long enough since APW.

"why aren't Ra Ra Riot playing NYC on either date?"

Probably because when the tour was announced they were locked into APW and because Ra Ra Riot can save their next play for a way bigger venue than Union Hall or KF

"Probably because when the tour was announced they were locked into APW and because Ra Ra Riot can save their next play for a way bigger venue than Union Hall or KF"

Yeah, they can play way bigger places than those two, but could easily take them with them to those bigger places.

It just seems like Ra Ra Riot are dodging playing in New York on this tour: it starts in Ithaca & ends in Boston. Even tonight is a 'DJ set'...

(and listings, including BV's own 'What's Going On Wednesday', shouldn't really list the show as 'Elvis Perkins, Ra Ra Riot @ Housing Works Used Bookstore').

Can see that APW was booked first, but other acts from APW are playing New York - look at Yeah Yeah Yeahs playing two dates in late September.
