Them Crooked Vultures

Them Crooked Vultures didn't include NYC in their initial tour announcement, but it looks like they'll be playing Roseland Ballroom on October 15th. Stay tuned for more information.

I'm sure these will get old soon, but...hahahaha

ugggh...

T5 > Roseland

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 1:39 PM

eh... seeing Built to Spill that day, anyways

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 1:40 PM

This is supposed to be their initial small NYC show and they found the shittiest possible venue they could play at. Congrats!

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 1:45 PM

I hope they die!

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 1:55 PM

Awesome news

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:04 PM

Tickets for their shows in other markets were north of $60.00 with fees, etc. Who the fuck do they think they are?

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:05 PM

Who the hell are these guys?

Posted by snopes | September 18, 2009 2:06 PM

Three has-beens trying to get some more life out of their careers by doing a novelty act.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:13 PM

lmfao the pavement comment. that will neever get old.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:13 PM

I don't have any interest in seeing this band. At all. Anything Josh Homme does just sounds like QOTSA (obviously) but you know what I mean.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:19 PM

I would take Roseland over T5 every day of the week. I wish that place would fucking burn down already.

Doesn't anyone "know some guys" who can do that?

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:31 PM

hahahahaha, "three has-beens." i love it. i guess you're saying that because their average age is over 46 y/o, Homme, Grohl and JPJ can't possibly rock any more? typical snide BV commenter bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:40 PM

I love how every comment page on this site always turns into a huge arguement.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:41 PM

@2:40 Maybe they can rock, who knows, but they are all has-beens whose best work is decades behind them (Kyuss, Nirvana, Led Zep). Definitely don't deserve $60.00 for some half-baked bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 2:46 PM

Oof. I'd rather drive to another city than see a show at Roseland. Worst venue in New York (yes, worse than T5). Bet this show will kick ass, despite the venue handicap.

Posted by panopticon | September 18, 2009 2:57 PM

why do you think roseland is worse than t5?

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 3:49 PM

i think i'm the only person who actually doesn't mind T5. out of every venue i've been to T5 the most hands down. HOB Boston is after that.

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 4:04 PM

you ain't a has been if you never was....

fuckin hipstersd

Posted by rogerdaltree | September 18, 2009 5:37 PM

terminal 5 is worse than roseland

Posted by Anonymous | September 18, 2009 6:10 PM

I don't see why Roseland gets all the worse reviews... The only conceivable con I see is the disgusting evacuation of the place at the end of the concert... Literally a half hour to get out... Well and acoustics are pretty good, but I usually am at the bars in the front for concerts there.

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2009 12:07 PM

T5 is far worse than Roseland.

Both have terrible sound, but Roseland has really bad sound if you stand on the floor beneath the balcony (where the front bar is). Just avoid that area and you should be fine (as far as huge venues go).

Posted by Anonymous | September 19, 2009 1:53 PM

Got tix, pricy but worth it if you put the band members resumes together, roseland is bad but better than T5

Posted by Anonymous | September 24, 2009 6:00 PM

yak, yak, yak...
shut up and listen...

Posted by Anonymous | September 28, 2009 2:02 PM

what time do they go on tonight?

Posted by Jonny G. | October 15, 2009 8:44 AM

You people realize that Roseland was originally an ice skating rink, right? Do you really expect it to have good acoustics??? Arguing over which venue (T5 or Roseland) is pretty pointless too, seeing as we all agree they both have cons that far outweigh the pros.

just called the box office...mini mansions at 8pm, them crooked vultures from 9:15 - 10:45

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2009 12:16 PM

all of you idiots who are saying these guys are has beens must not be into what is happening now. Josh Homme a has been? Dave Grohl a has been? JPJ a has been? Granted the later was in a HUGE band that had a HUGE impact on music many years before Josh and Dave put their stamp on the scene but i dont believe i would call any of them that. QOTSA rocks pretty damn hard and really commands alot of attention for all these fucking wimpy bands out there right now all self loathing and immature. Dave is still killing it with many bands over the year's including his main gig which we all know about. This site continues to go down hill with many unmusical people who tend to bite hard on any new piece of shit that comes out. I feel for you all

This is going to be awesome. Anyone who says otherwise is on a wind up.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2009 6:10 PM

Agreed! I guarantee all 3 of these guys have achieved more artistically that any of the haters on this site. Dave is one of the hardest drummers out there and JPJ is still one of the most intense bass players! Being an audiophile is a serious addiction! These guys are bound to rock hard!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2009 6:17 PM

the show was a wall of hard rockin music... the crowd was with them from the first note... if that's not what you want, try vampire weekend...

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2009 12:19 PM

i was kinda skeptical going in to this show...that was all put aside after the first song...this shit was next level...straight up ridiculous show and the material sounds amazing. I want the record now.

Posted by harry | October 16, 2009 1:46 PM

I'm pissed I couldn't go.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2009 2:05 PM

This show was fucking mental...Worth 60 bucks alone to watch Dave Grohl fuckin pummel the skins every beat like he wanted to kill the drum. He looked like Animal from the Muppets..Whole show kicked ass. There's still some rock and roll out there.

Posted by Two Bloody Tampons... | October 16, 2009 2:10 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2009 2:15 PM

Holy shit!!!! That show was seriously tough. Really amazing and had me so charged up afterwards. Worth every penny. Anyone claiming otherwise would be foolish.

Posted by louis | October 17, 2009 1:28 PM
