Is Monster Island a good place to see a show? And by "All ages" do they really mean 18 and under?

it means anyone can come. they don;lt care how old or young you are.

Do they beat older people with sticks about the buttocks?

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 3:34 PM

GONNA BE SUCH GOOOOOOODDDDD

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 3:46 PM

if you're over 18 and you like this band...

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 4:11 PM

...than you most likely have good taste in music. First album was great, new album has potential to be even better (based on the new tracks I have seen live.

they're quite good live. Saw them with Los Campesinos in February and they blew me away.

Posted by Ray | September 1, 2009 5:06 PM

wow not to upset anyone i really dont understand why people like them - especially live. Saw them at bowery, really tried to like them but they kind of reminded me of some bug thats flying around and really getting on my nerves. I had no patience with them. different strokes for different folks.

¡glos!

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 5:40 PM

Most of their crowd at the Whitney show was under 18.

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 6:49 PM

Sure doesn't look that way in the pics

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 7:29 PM

What is wrong with underagers? They sure seem to be having a lot more fun than the twenty somethings standing in the back with their arms folded at most all of these Brooklyn concerts. Is fun wrong?

Posted by Anonymous | September 1, 2009 7:41 PM

it's just people trying to scare over 21 people from going to these shows.

in reality the "underage" contingent is a barely noticeable minority.

the truth is that denying these younger people entry is a far more odd and fucked up practice than being age-blind is.

I agree with 7:41. I really wish more venues in new york would hold all ages parties. Props to ToddP for making it happen though....as for T.A., I hope I make it to williamsburg tomorrow evening. Anyone know the set times?
