Miike Snow and Jack Penate play for a second night, this time with Phil and the Osophers, at Mercury Lounge.

Asobi Seksu play a “special acoustic” show at Joe’s Pub before their upcoming tour.

Little Boots, who last visited NYC in May, plays Bowery Ballroom with Yes Giantess and Plastiscines. Earlier in the night she might be playing Irving Plaza with Perez LadyHawke, Frankmusik and Semi Precious Weapons, but NOT Ida Maria.

Olof Arnalds performs at Rockwood Music Hall with a grand piano accompanying her. It’s her second of three shows while she’s back in town. Jim Campilongo & Adam Levy Guitar Duo are at the same venue earlier in the night.

In case you missed it, Pavement is getting back together.

Sam Mickens’ Ecstatic Showband Revue performs with Wildbirds & Peacedrums (who are busy this week) and Katie Eastburn at the Cake Shop.

Ed Schrader banged the (floor tom) drum slowly at the Brooklyn Bowl ’round robin’ Pool Party on August 2nd. Tonight he plays with Adventure, Infinity Window, DJ Dog Dick and NT at Glasslands.

Rhett Miller & The Serial Lady Killers (who play three days later at Webster Hall) perform with Jim Ward (of Sparta) and Mia Riddle & Her Band at The Bell House.

John Wesley Harding’s Cabinet of Wonders is back on stage. Tonight guests at (Le) Poisson Rouge include Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies), Eugene Mirman, David Gates, Elizabeth Ziman (Elizabeth and the Catapult), John Roderick (The Long Winters) and Jon Auer (The Posies).
