MGMT is playing John Varvatos with Kid Cudi at 10pm on the Bowery. They are giving out bracelets in the store now...no purchase necessary.

"MGMT is playing John Varvatos with Kid Cudi at 10pm on the Bowery. They are giving out bracelets in the store now...no purchase necessary."

I would call Varvatos before believing this.

Just called Varvatos...its true. Said they have 200 bracelets to give out. Also said Kanye and Ratatat are making an appearance...gonna be nuts.

"Also said Kanye and Ratatat are making an appearance...gonna be nuts."

I wouldn't be surprised of Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton show up for a duet.

whatever, they may have been a flavor of the moment at a time. but they've been pretty close friends of mine for 10 years and I've learned from them how hard it is to be a working unit as a band. The Mattie thing was a really hard thing to endure for them, especially b/c he is Gabe's cousin and they became a creative force together over the last few years. They're still one of the most tuneful and danceable bands around. They kicked ass the other night. Straight up. They were so nervous I'm just glad they're still here... It almost feels like the old days when Mattie didn't sing except you have Gabe the amazing multi instrumentalist...
