Yo La Tengo

Yo La Tengo celebrated the release of their new record Popular Songs at D'amelio Terras Gallery in Chelsea last night. Album & gallery artist Dario Robleto was also in attendance to sign autographs, shake your hand and say hello. The paintings on the wall are/were by Joanne Greenbaum. Her show opens at the gallery Thursday night. Tickets were given away for the September 25th Roseland Ballroom show that Yo La Tengo are playing with Black Lips, and.....Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co...

September, 25 2009 08:00 PM - Roseland Ballroom -- with Yo La Tengo!
239 West 52nd Street in Manhattan, New York, New York - Cost? Gosh, what do tix for genuine concerts go for these days?

Go figure. We're playing at Roseland Ballroom with Yo La Tengo. Granted, we're the opening, opening, surprise act -- and we're actually going to be performing in the lobby -- but, yes, we're playing at Roseland Ballroom with Yo La Tengo! We're rather looking forward to it.

To answer their question, tickets cost $28.50+fees. Stay tuned for even more additions to the NYC show lineup. More pictures from last night's party, below...

who is the guy in the short sleeved shirt in photo 6? I have seen him at many of the YLT shows.

Posted by Anonymous | September 9, 2009 1:34 PM

I meant photo 8.

you mean with the side burns ? Thats Josh Madell who owns Other Music and plays in several bands (antietam and others)

Posted by Anonymous | September 9, 2009 1:44 PM

thanks. I have seen him at lots of YLT shows and did not know that.

The guy in the gray shirt with sideburns is Josh Modell. Drummer for Antietam, owner of Other Music, and a generally nice guy.
The real question is what did the guy say in photo #25 which resulted in the reactions of horror on Georgia and Ira's faces?

Posted by BTH | September 9, 2009 1:59 PM

I don't think I saw him onstage when Antitam opened for YLT at Maxwell's. Did he play?

Posted by Anonymous | September 9, 2009 2:00 PM

I guess maybe since he is the drummer thats why I didn't see him.

josh is a nice guy? i dunno...he's always be a bit of tool. i remember when he and the other partner used to run the music section at kim's underground on bleecker. he never seemed nice. when they started other music, i once tripped their alarm with a cd i purchased from norman's who are shady with their security strips. josh ran right over and huffed and puffed and panted like a little bitch.

good ylt album though.

is that kurt vile in one of the shots?

Posted by Anonymous | September 9, 2009 2:24 PM

Yeah, the dude with the really long hair and backpack is Kurt Vile.

@1:59, the guy told Ira and Georgia that Bobby Valentine has been signed on to manage the Mets again.

Antietam and Yo La Tengo go way back - they opened up Yo La Tengo's very first show.

And by the way, Tara Key of Antietam is one of the most incredible guitarists out there.
