Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer), RIP

Dickie Peterson

Dickie Peterson, the bassist/vocalist and founding member of BLUE CHEER, passed away this morning (Monday, October 12) at 5 a.m. in Germany. He was 61 years old.

Although the cause of Peterson's death has not been released, he had reportedly been battling cancer for the past several months. [Blabbermouth]

Blue Cheer have been active the last few years. In March of this year they even played SXSW. RIP. Videos below...

first two LP's are real classics. saw them in the summer of 2006 and they were fun. glad I got to see them once. RIP

Nice guy, not jaded, always loved talking to the fans. Had many stories to tell including about his gf, Janis Joplin.

Wasnt the drugs..
He lived rock n roll till the very end and was massively humble about it all.

I just picked up good times are so hard to find two weeks ago, and I have to say that the third album onwards are underrated. When I was twenty five, I didn't appreciate them, but now I think they sound better. Gotta go get the video freaks DVD. RIP Dickie

1 of the top 3 all time trio's, Although Jimi didn't like them, I always heard Dickie a down to earth guy when you meet him, he and Blue Cheer, continue to be on my playlist. Thanx Paul & Leigh. Thanx Earl at Xm "Deep Tracks" keeping them in everyones memeory. -MARS Hall
