This must be stopped. Before we know it they'll be hitting msg, Justice style.

These guys played at my college in January of this year. Our venue holds 150 when it's packed to the gills. This shit is crazy.

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2009 10:27 PM

Who consumes this awful shit? And can we trick them in a mass suicide ritual somehow?

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2009 10:35 PM

Someone please explain Passion Pit to me, and I don't want any Apple Jacks logic

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2009 10:45 PM

WOW! and the show is in January!?

Posted by Ali | October 12, 2009 11:19 PM

FYI - T5 always says the first show is "sold out" so they can put the 2nd show up on sale to start selling tickets. Watch and see how tickets for the "sold out" show will become available for sale again before long.

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2009 11:36 PM

why is this band so hated? because they became popular quickly? their album is catchy as hell, and surprisingly solid.

"why is this band so hated? because they became popular quickly? their album is catchy as hell, and surprisingly solid."

Agreed

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 12:12 AM

Most overrated band of the year.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 9:43 AM

Ugliest band of the year. I saw them once. It was embarrassing for everyone involved, myself included. I can't understand how anyone could be psyched on these awful jackasses.

uh...Gimme danger, man. This has got to go.

Posted by Raoul Duke | October 13, 2009 10:10 AM

i hope Dan Deacon opens. plus its at Terminal 5. can i pay retarded prices to watch shit on a stage at a shit venue and get ripped off on drinks and deal with assholes in the audience? yes please, sounds like a great nite. enjoy your 15 minutes dudes, you are the next MGMT and Clap Your Hands

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 10:20 AM

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 10:25 AM

i was excited then i realized passion pit...not bottomless pit...

Posted by scott | October 13, 2009 11:22 AM

are u effing shitting me? overrated, horrible live, boring music, AUGH go away passion shit!

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 11:25 AM

I think it's really funny that people on this board complain about a bands looks. That pretty much defines most of the brooklyn scene. Wait, you're not a skeleton-man wearing a blouse? I can't listen then.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 11:34 AM

i fucking love there album....i pretty much listened to it everyday this summer and I still listen to it frequently. i saw them at bowery and then saw them with Phoenix. I honestly can say I will never see them live again. The songs don't have the same energy live. They are the definition of a studio band. Their live performace leaves a lot to be desired. For one his voice just doesn't translate well live. His mic always seems too low as if to drown out the fact his voice is shit. Phoenix owned them in Central Park. Those guys are a true band. PP could learn something from them.

They're put together. Mike went to my school (Emerson) and recruited all these other kids from Berklee. I thought the point of a drummer was that you DIDNT use a click track?

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 12:21 PM

Many of you commenters are way awesomer than Passion Pit. Passion Pit cries at night, wishing for your approval.

I like the album. Saw them with Phoenix - would not pay to see them on their own, especially at T5.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 12:43 PM

Are you serious? These people suck.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 12:52 PM

what a fucking joke!

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 1:42 PM

"They're put together. Mike went to my school (Emerson) and recruited all these other kids from Berklee. I thought the point of a drummer was that you DIDNT use a click track?"

lots of drummers use a click track live. u2 has been since the 80s. i also remember seeing the drummer from spoon playing with a click.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 2:00 PM

they use autotune too much

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 2:02 PM

Its because abbreviated, they are "pee pee".

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 2:06 PM

they actually didn't use autotune at all. they layered the vocals. if he used autotune, the layered vocals would start phasing and sound like a shitty ibanez chorus effect pedal. most of you have no idea what it is because you're too busy figuring out different ways to use the word "meh." in interviews they explained this. not like anyone here cares, anyway. everyone comes here to hate everyone. hate hate hate. that's all it is.

watch a band succeed and then shit on them. exactly what brooklyn vegan is for. great outlet for severely limited, frustrated, untalented "critics" with shitty day jobs. No wonder they have the time to immediately post every time a post goes up. what a bunch of fucking losers. yay, internet for being the vessel of ridicule! the internet version of tar and feathering!

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:11 PM

phoenix plays to a click.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:33 PM

I had a dream last night that they opened for the Airborne Toxic Event at webster.....and it was all ages. what a fucking nightmare.

i would like to see Passion Pit live, I really do love their album. But if they are selling out Terminal 5 that can only mean that 70% of the audience is going to be dumb twelve year olds.

...I hate Terminal 5.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:34 PM

They are not a good live band and T5 is not a good venue. But there are plenty of people who don't realize either of these things and will be okay with paying $22 + fees to find out. I dont see what's so surprising (or infuriating) about this.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:35 PM

11:31
you're wrong. it's sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:38 PM

give em a year and everyone is gonna shut up.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:42 PM

they were much cooler to see live at the mercury then no one was talking shit

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:53 PM

they are about as good live as the vivian girls except much less appealing to look at

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 4:59 PM

i want to cum

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 5:15 PM

dear god, worse than the vivian girls?
that sounds truly horrific.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 5:30 PM

wow, just wow

Posted by bobby the rookie | October 13, 2009 5:49 PM

@4:11 - I liked your comment, but my day job is not shitty and some of us are recording geeks.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2009 9:51 PM

@411 if everythings so fucking negative and predictable and bad then why do you come here and read it. probably because you are just as snarky about what you hate too, fucking hypocrite

Posted by french kiss this | October 14, 2009 12:32 AM
