Raveonettes

In addition to their NYC shows (October 14th at Webster Hall and Oct. 18th at Music Hall of Williamsburg), the Raveonettes will be playing a late-starting set (11pm) at Maxwell's on October 13th. Tickets are on sale.

Unlike their other shows, the Maxwell's gig won't be with Austin rock band The Black Angels, who are opening the October leg of the Raveonettes' tour.

The Raveonettes' new video for "Last Dance," off In And Out Of Control, which came out October 6th on Vice Records, is posted below. It's directed by Matthew Lessner, the same video whiz who gave us Dirty Projectors on a mountainside. That plus videos of The Raveonettes in the studio, answering questions and live at Rough Trade...

I met some guy at the Alligator Lounge last night and we went back to my place where we did it ass to mouth, which was a first for me. Weird night.

Does anyone care about this band? So many years into their career, minimal records sold, still playing only around 1,000 capacity rooms. What keeps em going? Pride?

Posted by Anon | October 9, 2009 1:47 PM

The Raveonettes kind of do the same thing every album, but this new one is pretty great I have to say.

Posted by bill p | October 9, 2009 1:52 PM

i dont think its as good as the last album its less shoegazey and more cheese pop. she looks good after popping a kid out

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2009 2:05 PM

this band is so dispassionate & lifeless that it's hard to see why we should care in return. oh wait...no one really does.

these dates have been on sale for months and aren't near selling out. sad.

If they can tour all around the world playing 1,000 capacity room, they have a decent nightly guarantee. Perhaps some people think it's a great, semi-lucrative job to tour all over the world, playing music? So weird.

@ 2:15pm
they constantly bitch about how broke they are, so i don't know how lucrative those "nightly guarantees" are.

this new album is awesome, as was lust lust lust...

They do what they do really well, and I'd always be up for seeing them live.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2009 2:32 PM

i like them and plan on seeing them again.

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2009 2:39 PM

I love 'em.

Going on the 14th.

New album is great too.

Wish I could tour the world as well.

...these boards get more depressing every day.

Or maybe the bands with big PR firms just get shittier.

Uhm...is everyone just gonna ignore Jenny1:40's first comment above? Jenny...what's your number?

Posted by blackhat | October 9, 2009 3:25 PM

1:40 - mom, didn't I tell you to stop posting on BV?

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2009 3:26 PM

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2009 3:50 PM
