DANCE

A cold has prevented me from hitting many a dancefloor so far this week. As I mentioned at the end of part 1 of the Week In Dance, Micachu & The Shapes play the second New York show on their tour, at Le Poisson Rouge tonight (10/2). Check out a video of Tim Exile (who played Santos Thursday night) remixing Micachu & The Shapes, live, below and don't forget that following the Micachu show Martyn, Kotchy, Starkey, DJ Sharmaji, and Samiyam will also be at Le Poisson Rouge (11pm, now changed to 21+).

In other exciting dance happenings this weekend, Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin are back to their old tricks this fall, following their excellent series of Sunday Best parties this summer. Saturday (10/3) they're bringing our good buddy Mister Saturday Night out of hiding, for what is sure to be a great loft party with Innervisions' label head, Dixon at the Market Hotel. Dixon is touring in support of his Temporary Secretary mix album, due out October 26th on Innervisions. Tracklisting and party info is below, and you can download one of the tracks from the mix - "Setsa" by Âme, at the top of this post:

On top of all that happening Saturday, Sunday Best is back (on Sunday - 10/4)! It's not at the BKLYN Yard (where it'd be a bit too chilly to party now anyway), but rather at the nearby Bell House. I missed the few summer parties that had been moved there because of rain, but I've heard from many people that the excellent, good-time, dance vibes translated just as well indoors at the Bell House. If you need any further assurance that it's going to be good - Morgan Geist will be guest deejaying! Check out Fact Magazine's The Essential...Morgan Geist and details on this week's (& future) parties below:

has anyone seen that new techno dance move everyone is doing?
I think its called, "the hummus bump"
its similar to someone doing the twist while in a k-hole.
I saw a lot of people doing it at the Bell House last week.
