Seeing Darkness on the Edge of Town at Giants Stadium was downright weird. Great, but weird. All those downer songs - Adam Raised a Cain, Factory, etc. etc. - really clashed with the rest of the show's Jersey-party atmosphere. It was clear that some of the audience didn't know what to do with those songs. And it really brought out the strange
thing about Springsteen, that extreme optimism / extreme pessimism mix.

Anyway, great concert, partly *because* this aspect of it was so weird.

Did anyone catch the secret Lita Ford show at Mercury Lounge? The password was HUMMUS. There were no capers sightings.

Darkness was amazing. Not to sound like a tool, but hearing the album as a whole live was absolutely incredible. A downright spiritual moment.

Agree with the Darkness praise. It was super. But, i gotta say I don't feel the "magic" when he does Thunder Road and Born To Run like i do on record. i can't pinpoint why.

Still, this time he did Rosie, which he didn't do the last time i saw him, so i left satisfied.

I went to some place in bushwick last night, and I'm not sure what band was playing, but they had Hummus there so I stayed even though the band sucked.

I don't think they have capers in Bushwick.

Train to Bruce was a breeze last night. No delays at all after the show. Just watch out for the douchebag NJ Transit rent-a-cops.

Buses from Port Authority were great too. Got on very quickly, both ways.
