A genuine thank you to all the people who actually know what it is like being on tour and even though most who donated are broke-ass, struggling musicians just like us, you helped us out with this situation anyway. It's not like we were crying every day and wishing we could just go home, quite the opposite: we love nothing more than being out on the road, playing music, no matter what kind of cards are being dealt to us. Touring is exhausting and expensive. And as much as you snobby fucks don't want to admit it, when you're in a small band who's mainly making shit happen yourself, touring is ENTIRELY about asking people for charity: Can we sleep on your floor, can we do a show-trade, gas money, etc. It cuts both ways. I don't care if you're metal or punk or that shit that animal collective plays, when you're a small, hard-working band, you help each other out, make friends, form communities.

So when they ask for a little help, I take that to mean they're asking for some support from within their community. BrooklynVegan was good enough to re-post that. But that doesn't mean Hull is charging into the dorms, Starbucks, Razorfish offices, parents' basement, Hoboken, or wherever else you pretentious motherfuckers are commenting from, and asking YOU for money.
