i love all the julian haters. dude is unbelievably talented and dedicated to making music (other than 1 or 2 songs on FIOE, no filler). the strokes never tried to make it huge despite RCA trying to make them (unlike the White Stripes who tried with much more professional management and pretty much succeeded in becoming huge). Come back to NY Julian, NY loves you.

he doesn't write a lot of songs. he wrote maybe 3 or 4 real songs for First Impressions, and that's it for his output since 2003. he was young & hot & snotty and that's what he had to express. so now he'd be better off joining a strokes cover band rather than attempt to establish himself solo on the basis of subtlety and craft he doesn't have.

Some of the comments here are very harsh. Julian, I don't think, has permanently moved to LA. He'll be back in NY. If he doesn't like Brooklyn, well that's unfortunate but then again, he called Yankee fans some pretty harsh names as well..I think he said Yankee fans are idiots or dickheads......
