U2 @ Giants Stadium (more by Tim Griffin)
U2

U2's multi-leg, multi-year 360° tour continues into 2010 with a new set of dates and a new set of stadiums. After playing some of the last shows in Giants Stadium in 2009 (Bruce Springsteen played the very last), U2 will return to Jersey next summer to play one of the first shows at the new Meadowlands stadium on July 19th. Bon Jovi will play the very first concerts at the new stadium in May.

Pre-sales through U2.com begin on Tuesday at 10am (11/3).

"With a cylindrical video system of interlocking LED panels, and a steel structure rising 150 feet from the floor over a massive stage with rotating bridges, the band has truly created an intimate 360º experience for concert goers. In keeping with the concept that this tour is more about a unique staging configuration with excellent sight-lines, tickets for the U2 360° 2010 tour will once again be scaled so that 85 percent of the tickets are priced at less than $95.00, general admission floor tickets at $55.00 and at least 10,000 tickets per venue priced at $30.00."

but aren't they LOSING, like, tens of millions of dollars a day on this tour? THEY ARE TOTALLY DOING IT FOR THE FANS AND THE LOVE OF MUSIC...

Posted by Anonymous | November 2, 2009 11:39 AM

uhm.... they would not be doing this tour if they were losing millions every day.

these guys are making money hand over fist on this thing. the expenses may be high... but if you're selling 80,000 tickets per show, you're making lots of money.

why would BV have to post this information? doesn't U2 have sufficient PR without BV?

Posted by Anonymous | November 2, 2009 11:56 AM

seriously, U2, go away.

Posted by Anonymous | November 2, 2009 12:02 PM

honestly, there are a lot of skinny-jeans hipster faggots out there who have never heard "Joshua Tree", Rattle n' Hum, War, October, Achtung Baby, etc. these were monumental albums of great influence and significance.

of course modern U2 music is not up to par with their past creative greatness. they are businessmen now. but that does not negate their previous moments of creative genius and the contributions they made toward influencing songwriters for generations.

STOP MAKING THESE RICH FUCKS, RICHER

Posted by Anonymous | November 2, 2009 12:58 PM

grrrrrrrrrrr. this fucking shitty band needs to just disappear. enough is enough. fuck!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 2, 2009 1:54 PM

yes i agree with most of the sentiment here. U2 does blow which really is amazing seeing as they were able to establish a long time working relationship with the amazing Brian Eno. Not even Eno could save them which makes them even shittier in my book.

their fans tend to be really lame to and don't really know shit about music other than U2. Most don't even know who Eno is.

Actually. The comments about them losing money is in fact true. The cost of the US tour is incredibly expensive. They are expected to make money when they do the international part, but for the most part the cost of setting up and moving in the US is at a loss. They are trying to give the most over the top performance for their fans, whether or not fans agree is another story.

I'm too old for stadium shows, too old to be excited about U2 since it is no longer 1981, too old to subscribed to Rolling Stone Magazine.

You fucking hipsters are a bunch of spoiled brats. You're the reason Williamsburg is turning into it's own Murray Hill.

Appreciate good music, don't just bitch to bitch you little Gossip Girl fuckers.

^ The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin...should i go on?

Is it?
U2 make still various music en they do matter.
De rolling stones don`t.
The beatles didn`t last that long and also Led Zeppelin didn`t.

7:56...I agree...Mofo is ill!

Posted by Anonymous | November 3, 2009 3:00 PM

Boy
War
Unforgettable Fire
Joshua Tree
Achtung baby
Zooropa

You little emo bitches have such big mouths. Learn to appreciate music instead of listening to music just because you think it makes you cool. Now go hit up your trust funds and pick up a few of U2s older albums.

You have to respect U2s catalog, granted the more recent stuff has sucked.
