VW bowery and webster shows are gone. webster was actually around for 5 minutes or so, but bowery was gone in seconds.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:05 PM

Vampire Weekend was bull shit! Out of the waiting room at NOON and they were sold out! I fucking hate Ticketmaster!!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:06 PM

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:27 PM

why does Rockabilly Barbie play the cello?

>>

isn't it an upright bass ?

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:36 PM

Palace theatre. Great seats.

Why would I want to fight for standing space with a bunch of Frat Boys & Hipsters, when I can sit 12 rows back in a SEAT like an adult?

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:36 PM

got webster tix, going to be lightyears better than united palace and bowery since there won't be bitchy entitled 16 year olds there

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:40 PM

I am scared.

Posted by hotel comparison | November 20, 2009 12:40 PM

1232 is a fang banger

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:45 PM

Damn, was hoping to score some tix to sell on Stub Hub. Tru fans beat me to the punch.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:45 PM

I was able to get good seats up close at united palace but it is sold as willcall only. How does this work?

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:51 PM

12:36 must a real old fart, if he get stand on his own two feet. why the fuck would you want to sit down at a vampire weekend concert, go see fuckin lyle lovett instead

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:55 PM

Uhh. No it's not... You must have checked off the wrong box....

Just means you have to get there early and stand in line for your tickets.

Since it's not a GA show, shouldn't really be an issue.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:56 PM

anyone still pulling good seats for the palace? im thinking about quitting...

Posted by brian | November 20, 2009 12:56 PM

I already got row A, but I keep checking just for the heck of it.

Yea.. Good seats still to be found..

Once all the disgruntled folk realize about Webster and Bowery, they will be flocking to Palace...

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:03 PM

Ooops...

Just got an email about the will call thing...

All it really means is that all of these craigslist and stubhub capitalists are SOL. They will not be able to sell their tickets before the show. The original buyer will HAVE to pick up the tickets and meet the poor seller on the street right before the show.

Vampire Weekend sucks. Not even meh worthy.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:14 PM

SCORED A PAIR TO WILD BEASTS!! YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:15 PM

"why does Rockabilly Barbie play the cello?

>>

isn't it an upright bass ?"

No, that's definitely a cello. Bizarre.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:15 PM

Who would pay Slayer to eat Vampire Weekend? Just as I thought, everyone.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:16 PM

"why does Rockabilly Barbie play the cello?

No, that's definitely a cello. Bizarre.

maybe it's actually the chick from Ra Ra Riot..

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:17 PM

the original buyer is always the seller

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 1:26 PM

Wild Beasts > Vampires

Posted by Charlotte Kostelic | November 20, 2009 1:35 PM

Vampire Weekend sucks. They should be giving those tickets away.

Hot Chip sucks as well.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 2:09 PM

yeah, bowery was out in about four seconds. literally, four seconds. i got united palace tickets but i don't know how seeing them sitting down is going to work

Posted by genevieve | November 20, 2009 2:22 PM

vampire blows. their balls need to drop and make less sissy music for kids

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 2:26 PM

An upright bass would be larger. Even if it's not a full sized one, a 1/2 or 3/4 bass would still be bigger than what rockabilly barbie has.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 2:40 PM

Against all odds, I beat the Ticketbastard and scored tickets to Bowery.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 3:12 PM

No one cares whether any of you got tix or not

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 3:28 PM

"got webster tix, going to be lightyears better than united palace and bowery since there won't be bitchy entitled 16 year olds there

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 12:40 PM"

Hey man sorry you got shut out of getting tix to Bowery but don't be a bitter idiot spouting nonsense here. Yes seeing the band in a bigger, less intimate, worse sounding venue will be lightyears better.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 4:30 PM

Well yeah you know Mr. Stupid, some of us actually go to a show for the best sound and intimacy and connection to the band and the music being played. We also listen to music on vinyl and CD on stereos rather than compressed shitty sounding MP3's through our computers.

Posted by The dinosaur | November 20, 2009 4:35 PM

Really? Interesting... Well I have an Onkyo CP-1280F turntable that I listen to on a daily basis. I make a lot of money, so I am able to afford original pressing mint condition vinyl for the most part.

As for the sound at Webster? Never been a fan.. The Bowery is fantastic though.

I also have a 160 gig Ipod which is only filled with WAV files. Not AAC, MP3.

Sorry to offend you if you fall under the "Frat Boy an/or Hipster" category.. I'm sure that trip from Park "Slop" or Greenpoint or DUMBO or wherever you reside for you whould be a lengthy commute for you up to the Palace Theatre, but for the rest of us, it'll be a $15 cab ride home.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 4:50 PM

12:36, no one will sit at the Vampire Weekend show at United Palace. I got Bowery tickets, but I also wouldn't mind going to UP if I had gotten tickets close to stage. So you should be fine as long as you don't plan on sitting.

12:55, while I agree with you on the sitting, you sound like a clueless ass. Everyone will get old. Some of us will still be seeing shows on a regular basis, while you'll likely be sitting in front of TV with a six-pack. I enjoy VW, but as of now Lyle Lovett is 100 times better as a musician than all the VW boys combined.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 4:56 PM

Lyle Lovett rules, you leave him alone.

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 5:01 PM

VW are very entertaining.... Not much more than that. Lyle Lovett, a genuine musician...

I saw VW last year at Terminal 5. Venue was and (is) awful but the show what great fun...

12:55,

Surely you could be more creative than that...

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 5:15 PM

i see a nip slip barbie!

Posted by Anonymous | November 20, 2009 7:53 PM

In other news, both Yeasayer shows are already sold out!

Posted by Anonymous | November 21, 2009 3:07 AM

Must be great.
