so psyched for the youth tonight. just bummed its at T5. oh well. i dont love seeing shows there, but i dont think i hated it as much as people here seem to. i did see dinosaur kill it there opening for built to spill, and i thought the stooges sounded really good there last year.

Brooklyn is so hip and chic. Brooklyn is so no self-conscious and elitist and boring and predictable. I love Brooklyn, heh..

Million Young @ The Living Room at 11:45. Come check it out.

Yeah. And so does ticketmaster. Not sold out. Maybe you will think twice about buying tickets to sell, having friends "bail on you," or going "out of town."

You said it 6:36! Take Million Young down a peg!

Dinosaur and SY were great. Fuck the sound complaints about Terminal 5. They showed how it's done.

SY are boring touring this album.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 10:20 AM
COLD CAVE WAS AMAZING LAST NIGHT!
stole the show from SY and DJ.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 10:36 AM
10:36 - they were well better than SY, though Dino were thoroughly enjoyable.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 11:22 AM
yeah, the eternal is decent but hopefully they will change the set up a bit for tuesday. even though i know they won't.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 11:28 AM
@10:20, how long have you followed SY? they ALWAYS tour heavily on whatever is the newest record.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 11:35 AM
so wait explain to me how some ppl hitting buttons on a keyboard steals a show from ANY band actually playing music.

Sonic Youth RULED LAST NIGHT! The Eternal is their best since Daydream Nation!
Can you post the set list please?
Posted by Vitto | November 22, 2009 2:07 PM
I got there too late for Dinosaur Jr. and I feel retarded.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 2:14 PM
"The Eternal is their best since Daydream Nation"
oh please
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 2:23 PM
well it's at least their best since rather ripped
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 5:35 PM
11:35 - I have followed them for nearly 20 years. and this is their most boring album in that time, and it's also one they are heavily failing to sell live.
Posted by Anonymous | November 22, 2009 11:59 PM
well then don't act surprised, if you've got 2 decades in. me too. i happen to like this record, and it sounded pretty damn good tonight. bonus points for 'tom violence' and 'shadow of a doubt,' which were stupendous.
Posted by Anonymous | November 23, 2009 12:29 AM
yup , i'm clearly oozing surprise. all I said was it's boring. I didn't have a seizure over it. I think the band is extremely confident in the material, and that has the reverse effect of making it even less interesting live as they bash it out victory-lap style, rather than putting the effort in to livening it up. Stronger songs like Antennae stand up on their own without added invention, but most of the tracks just middle about. For me, and this was the same of the July show, it drags down the older material too. Shadow of a Doubt was the clear highlight of the night, but not much else shone the way SY easily can if they're in the right mindset.

I'm guessing 12:29 hasn't been a fan for 20 minutes given they never played Tom Violence. Nice try though lightweight.

Hey 1:04, I was referring to last night's Boston show. What part of 'tonight' and date stamp don't you get?
Posted by Anonymous | November 23, 2009 7:52 PM
Oh well if you're in Boston, you've got no stake here.
