"Like many of you who live in New Jersey, I've been following the progress of the marriage-equality legislation currently being considered in Trenton. I've long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that, "The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is -- a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure that every citizen is treated equally under the law." I couldn't agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now." - Bruce SpringsteenBruuuuuuuce! New Jersey legislature was supposed to vote on the issue Thursday, but that vote was controversially cancelled last night. The New York Senate disappointingly rejected a marriage bill for same sex couples earlier this month. For more on this issue, check out the Human Rights Campaign website.

I really still can't believe that people feel that strongly about NOT letting people marry whoever they want regardless if it's someone of the same sex or not. It truly boggles my mind. All of these "sanctity of marriage" hypocrites speak out against gay marriage while they cheat on their spouses or are on their umpteenth marriage already....what a frickin' joke!

but don't you know that if we allow same sex people to marry, next people will want to marry farm animals and inanimate objects.
wake up people!

I don't care who marries who. It doesn't affect my day to day life. People should marry any living human they want over the age of 18 or so...

I think everyone has the right to marry whomever they wish as long as they are human and also an adult. I don't care whether they are gay, straight, transgender or anything else!

I love Bruce, he doesn't just play to the audience, he cares about them. I went to one of his concerts at the Los Angeles Sport Arena in September. What he did was incredible - he stopped what he was doing and gave some of his water to someone who had fainted. But what impressed me the most was the look of concern that was on his face as he knelt down to see if they were ok.
