Looks like SXSW is already taking shape with these bands tour itineraries coming close to March.

Really, T5? I like Editors but T5 is pushing it isn't it? Can they even do 1,000 tickets in NYC?

that new album is full of HONK.

unless they're playing that 1st record entirely i don't see this show being worth it.

I don't understand what's with the huge time gaps between UK and US releases. Local Natives are doing the same thing. It's frustrating.

re gaps between UK and US releases ... it is pretty stupid ... especially with the internet ... it used to be a lot more common with movie releases but now most big movies get a global release - maybe this is just another example of the stupidity of record companies?

saying that, the local natives gap is a bit different since they signed to a UK record label and have just announced their US record signing (frenchkiss, i believe)

wtf were they thinking with this album.
it's pretty much the worst possible direction they could take the band in, mediocre dance music. i've seen them live before and enjoyed it, but my interest has went to 0 after hearing the album.

that guy on the right is tiny

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2009 12:57 PM

I was at the Terminal 5 show in January 08, when they played the last time...One of the most incredible live bands I have ever seen! Indeed, that show was sold out!

man oh man does this record suck. sorry guys.

someone who likes either band tell me how this works - are there people who like this band and not interpol? interpol and not this band? what's the matter with you all?

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2009 1:43 PM

new album is awful
can;t believe how bad they've turned since that amazing show at Mercury a few years ago

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2009 2:46 PM

that may be the worst fucking video i've ever seen.

I loved the first Editors album, and thought the second album was crap. That is, until I heard the third album. Someone's above post said it best...."worst direction this band could have taken."

December 2, 2009 10:37 AM : They sold out Terminal 5 last time they played there.

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2009 6:38 PM

December 2, 2009 1:43 PM : The real question is does anyone like Joy Division who doesn't like all of the bands that are trying to sound like them. I like Interpol and Editors but be honest, Interpol bit off of Joy Division long before The Editors bit off of them.

Posted by Anonymous | December 2, 2009 6:41 PM

god what happened to this band?? their first record was so amazing! this synth pop crap is so sad.

Posted by Anonymous | December 3, 2009 12:28 AM

Where is Interpol anyway? Their first release is so good.

This new Editors single is not that bad IMHO. My wife digs these guys and I've not been the biggest fan, but this is a kinda interesting. Makes me wonder what the rest is like? Different direction indeed.

They sold out Terminal 5? I seem to remember tickets being available day of (maybe it sold out at the door). Also, they had Hot Hot Heat as support.

December 2, 6:41 - i honestly hadn't thought of that when i wrote my comment at 1:43. good point. i do like joy division and i thought that Interpol's first album was derivative but good. editors i just don't understand. it's like interpol if interpol were mongoloids.

Posted by Anonymous | December 3, 2009 3:32 PM

these guys need to give up

Posted by Anonymous | December 5, 2009 8:18 AM

Pure ignorance here. There is nothing as worse than a band not evolving! And that's simply what Editors did with their third release. It is brilliant and future-oriented.
NYCers, do yourself a favour, and go and see one of the best live bands! Saw them here in Berlin, and will go to their show in Paris as well.

best show i've seen in recent memory. hate t5, but not gonna lie- it was perfect.
