Rogue Wave @ All Points West '08 (more by Kyle Dean Reinford)
Rogue Wave

Oakland based indie rock band Rogue Wave will release their highly anticipated 4th studio album, Permalight, on March 2, 2010 on Brushfire Records.

The album was written and recorded by founding members Zach Rogue [né Schwartz] and Pat Spurgeon over the course of several months in 2009 at Sweet Tea Studios in Oxford, MS with producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello).

"This record sounds, for lack of a better word, fun," said frontman Zach Rogue.

In addition, "D Tour," the documentary chronicling Pat Spurgeon's struggle with kidney failure, search for a living organ donor and the challenges associated with finding a viable match, [aired in November] on PBS's series Independent Lens. The film addresses issues with the health care system, lack of affordable insurance and the importance of organ donation. The film features performances from Ben Gibbard, Nada Surf, Ryan Miller, John Vanderslice, The Moore Brothers, and of course, Rogue Wave.

Rogue Wave's tour dates supporting the new record start at the end of February and run through April. They play two nights in NYC on March 2nd and 3rd at Music Hall of Williamsburg and then Bowery Ballroom. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.
