MARTHA STEWART HOLIDAY CRAFT SALE

Where: Starrett-Lehigh Building, 601 W 26th St between Eleventh and Twelfth Aves, ninth floor (marthastewart.com)
When: Saturday, December 5, noon-6pm, free
Why go: It's the domestic diva's first-ever holiday craft sale, which features home accessories, jewelry, ornaments and apparel from employees and friends of Martha Stewart Living Ominmedia, as well as crafters who've appeared on the Martha Stewart Show. In other words: by Stepford types, for Stepford types.
Don't miss: BrooklynVegan's DJ Bill Pearis spinning holiday music and indie rock, and the very Martha-esque gift-wrapping station. - Time Out
There's also a craft fair on Mulberry Street, and the Bust Holiday Craftacular is Sunday.

Sunday is also the day to see Beatles songs performed on ukuleles.

Sam Champion make a rare appearance at Union Hall tonight. In fact, it might be their last show ever.

Q: Did Sam Champion break up?
A: Kind of, yeah, I think so.

Q: Is Saturday, December 5th at Union Hall your last show?
A: maybe?

Sam Champion member Sean Bones will DJ between sets. Sam Champion's remake of Weekend at Bernie's below..

Saturdays are only good for one thing. Staying home and making hummus.

Posted by the hummus guy | December 5, 2009 5:03 AM

Hummus guy, tell us your real feelings. I don't want to wake up one day learning the story of a hummus addict who's blood-hummus levels were too high to keep on kicking and ticking. Before it is too late tell us why you love hummus so much, why... why !!! :*(** what is really wrong with you? What is missing in that hole you fill with a Levantine Arab dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic that is a popular food throughout the Middle East.

I care about you hummus guy. I want you to try new foods and go out on Saturdays.

Just a heads up to anyone going to Black Sheep, Dres does not perform 'Without A Doubt'. He should, but I doubt he's done it
since the 90's.

Cat Empire blow. Oh yeah lets go to the fu**in Nokia Theatre with a bunch of Australian fratty douche bags. Sounds like a great idea. Too bad Sister Hazel isn't opening. I'd rather get raped by Tim Tebow. The real party will be at 186 Norfolk Again. Starting at midnight. Crystal Nuggets debut performance. If you don't know who's in this special project you'll be reading about it on Monday....

Posted by Leftover Milkshake | December 5, 2009 4:08 PM

Man 186 Norfolk's PR people are really pushing on this site.

I hate how venues won't tell you when bands come on.

Posted by Anonymous | December 5, 2009 4:49 PM

why do the venues do that? they want you to come early to buy beer?

Posted by Anonymous | December 5, 2009 5:06 PM

some venues do it to get you to buy beer, sure. but most don't announce set times because they like running things loosely, they want to maintain a party vibe, and they hate when people come to see just one band, and show up then leave.
