Oh No Ono @ Mercury Lounge
Oh No Ono

To quote Bill Pearis, "Bear in Heaven were pretty great...insane drummer. Impressed. On No Ono were good. They did a radical cover of Radiohead's 'Weird Fishes' - the singer's vocals will be a dealbreaker for some." His review is from last night's show at Mercury Lounge that ArpLine (formerly The Kiss Off) also played (1/27).

Oh No Ono, in town from Denmark, continue on to Union Hall tonight (1/28) with The Depreciation Guild and Hooray for Earth.

Bear in Heaven were joined on stage by Zambri. More pictures from Mercury Lounge below...

Really love what the drummer is doing in BIH as well ... really organic and proggy in contrast to what the rest of the band is doing.

Just works for me. I'm sure many people disagree which is awesome ... it's people like you that turn me on to music i never would have considered before (or been exposed to)

Have a great weekend Peeps ... MEEHps?

all three bands killed

^^^^ No, Bear in Heaven killed! Arpline was really good. Great to hear bands with strong singers.

Oh No Ono looked like Mick Hucknall, Napoleon Dynamite and Steve Zissou onstage. Their sh*t got overshadowed by that Radiohead cover; can't believe they played something off Rainbows.

Bear in Heaven was great, but when those women were on stage it felt like live band karaoke.

It is awesome that Simply Red joined an indie rock band. I used to love is music. "I wasted all those years. Wasted all those tears. Never had a chance to be." Holden, Holden, Holden, Hoooaaaalll."

Oh, and what about those question marks on Sunday's text in the concert poster below? No, that isn't saving a spot for a Smiths reunion or U2 debut on the Coachella stage, it's the way that Yorke presents himself as a solo star, the marquee at his Orpheum concert had the same punctuational flourish.
