NEN: Your music is very reminiscent of 1970s feel-good, radio-friendly rock. Who are your influences?
Free Energy: Beethoven, Yngvie Malmsteen, Lindsey Buckingham, AC/DC, and ’70s radio friendly rock.
If you could support any act in the world, who would it be?
Free Energy: Grand Funk Railroad but we’ll support whichever act provides the most nutritious and lavish rider.
Free Energy played Pianos in Manhattan last night (1/21). Some pictures from that show adorn this post. Tonight (1/22) they move to Brooklyn where they will, to quote Bill, “rock Brooklyn Bowl like it’s a 1982 hockey arena, and will only set you back $5, which is less than what beer costs there.” One month from now the band will kick off a tour with Foreign Born.
