Hot Chip

Hot Chip's new album, One Night Stand, is out officially on February 9th. The band will play a free MySpace record release show in NYC at Highline Ballroom on Friday, February 5th which is one night before their sold out show at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Stay tuned for more details.

That makes four upcoming Hot Chip shows total in NYC right now. The other two are in April at the larger Terminal 5. Tickets for the final one are still on sale. Hot Chip last played Highline Ballroom almost exactly two years earlier when their last album came out.

The photo above is from a limited edition vinyl gatefold edition of the new album.

Limited to just 1,000 hand-numbered copies worldwide, the edition includes two super-heavyweight vinyl records containing the 10 tracks comprising 'One Life Stand', crafted on The Vinyl Factory-owned, legendary EMI 1400 vinyl press located in Hayes, Middlesex. Also featuring an exclusive Hot Chip art print of the 'One Life Stand' cover artwork, it is presented in a heavyweight gatefold sleeve with bespoke artwork printed on both sides, and also houses a very special and exclusive surprise!
Their new video for "One Life Stand" and info on two more Hot Chip-related events happening in NYC this week (one that the band will be at, and one where they may not be), below...

Where do I go for tix to the free Myspace show?

Posted by Jon | February 1, 2010 11:36 AM

no tix for the myspace show. you have to be their friend on myspace + be a friend of myspace secret shows. however, myspace put so many people on their personal guests list you will be waiting out in the cold for awhile. i've always gotten in to the shows but there's usually a long, long wait.

Any idea what time the Myspace show starts?

Posted by Sara | February 3, 2010 8:41 PM

i think the show starts at 8 (with an opener), doors open at 7. does it matter if you're not, um, myspace friends?

People already in line at highline

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2010 10:19 AM

10:19 that really makes no sense..I know times are tought but is it worth $40 to wait in line for 12 hours....just buy a ticket for one of the many other shows...then you don't have to wait outside..I would maybe wait an hour for this...

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2010 10:36 AM

Tell them that, not me. I'm going tomorrow night at MHOW.

Posted by Anonymous | February 5, 2010 10:47 AM

10:47 that makes sense!

I can't get to The Highline until 5:30. Should I even bother? Is there any way I'll get in?

Posted by Half Chemical | February 5, 2010 2:25 PM

The promo guy just told all the folks in line past a certain point that they won't likely get in...just sayin

I went to Factory in London to see Hot Chip Dj and they didn't even show up :( good show anyways ..killa kella, Youthless and Fenech Soler upstairs.

brooklyn vegan, why do you let people post such obvious lies? They might think they are jokes but some people might take them seriously. At 2:30 line was packed? At 2:30 i bet the "line" was completely empty.

I found out about this yesterday morning, decided to check it out around 2-3ish..I was second on line. The line started getting long around 5-6ish. Weird.
