VWeekend hit #1 on Billboard,
no wonder the people hate America

Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2010 12:20 PM

People might also be hating America because of pretentious assholes who don't appreciate good music just because it's popular.

Vampire Weekend Hit Number One
Vampire Weekend Hit Number One

Billboard reports that Vampire Weekend's Best New Music album Contra has sold 124,000 copies in its first week, making it the highest selling album in the country. Contra debuts at number one on the Billboard 200 today, beating out the likes of Susan Boyle (number two), Lady Gaga (number four), Taylor Swift (number eight), and the Black Eyed Peas (number ten).

According to Billboard, Contra, which was released by XL, is only the 12th independently distributed title to hit number one since 1991, when SoundScan started tracking sales.

-YEAH, cause the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, and Susan Boyle are popular and NOT pretentious at all.

Posted by Anon | January 20, 2010 12:32 PM

Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, and Susan Boyle are all as popular (if not more) all around the world. Susan Boyle is not American by the way. So there goes the reason for hating America claim. Of course Paul Simon is better than Vampire Weekend. Anyone who claims otherwise is clueless. However so are people who say VW is crap.

Don't worry about MHOW. I saw them at both MHOW and Terminal 5 and as much as everyone bashes T5, that show blew the MHOW one out of the water. It just had lot's more energy!

"Don't worry about MHOW. I saw them at both MHOW and Terminal 5 and as much as everyone bashes T5, that show blew the MHOW one out of the water. It just had lot's more energy!"

Hahaa, classic fail.

"Don't worry about not getting tix to the show at the awesome, small venue with great sightlines and sound. You can sandwich your way into the big, shitty industrial box with crap acoustics and no chance of seeing anything!"

It is true that the sightlines were much better at MHOW, but for a show like that you end up dancing the entire time anyway. I actually thought the sound was way better at T5 then at MHOW. I think you just need to make sure you are in the middle at T5 and not off to the sides.
