Sisterworld

Liars announce details of an expanded edition of their eagerly awaited fifth studio album, Sisterworld, out on March 9th 2010.

This version comes with a second CD of remixes and reinterpretations of all 11 tracks on Sisterworld from artists including Thom Yorke, Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio), Bradford Cox (Deerhunter / Atlas Sound), Melvins, Alan Vega (Suicide), Chris & Cosey (Throbbing Gristle) and Blonde Redhead. Full tracklisting to follow in the coming weeks.

Says Angus Andrew, "On this project we wanted to help develop and expand the role of the remix, particularly to engage artists less acknowledged for their work in the field. They were asked to 're-interpret' the song by any means necessary and the result is definitely the most exciting collaborative effort we've been involved in."

Liars also announce a string of North American tour dates in support of Sisterworld. The tour sees fellow LA band Fol Chen supporting Liars on all dates. The first single from Sisterworld, Scissor will be released as a digital single February 16th, 2010.
You can download "Scissor" for free above. Liars' North American tour is happening in April and includes shows at Bowery Ballroom (4/15) and Music Hall of Williamsburg (4/18). The main album's tracklist and all dates below...

that MP3 put me to sleep. Where did everyone go? Time to go home!

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 6:46 PM

This band got so pretentious. Guess that's why the bass player quit to play in a gay-sounding pop band.

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 6:47 PM

the new album is facemelting. especially the scarecrow song.

Posted by imkoreansowhat | January 7, 2010 9:27 PM

wow, wow, wow, this happens all the time! Then have you noticed another phenomenon? May-December romance is also very popular in Hollywood, guess that's why the interracial dating is hot on__BlackWhiteFinder.com__ only that people there are more sincere and true love focused!!!

I prefer Pop Group or This Heat. Not a bad group live just reminds me a lot of two or three bands from the late 70's and early 80's a lot.
But then again the singer was hanging with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs so that a bad sign. And that Neubaten
album cover collage thing was a bad idea.

MEMO
TO: Liars
FROM: Guy who posted at 2:20 AM

Things not to do:

Sound a lot of two or three bands from the late 70's and early 80's

Hang out with Yeah Yeah Yeahs and/or Neubaten

Use a collage for the album cover.

Improvement in these areas will create a more favorable listening experience and possible fandom of myself.

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2010 11:40 AM

blackwhitefinder.com is better than Animal Collective

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2010 3:53 PM

NO. They used a Neubaten album cover and put their name on it for some "artistic" cute reason, which was dumb. They didnt hang out with Neubaten.

It was pointed out in interviews to the Liars that they sound like Pop Group and This heat.

And karen O and YYY's are pretentious and overrated.

i just shat myself fuck....

Oh, and what about those question marks on Sunday's text in the concert poster below? No, that isn't saving a spot for a Smiths reunion or U2 debut on the Coachella stage, it's the way that Yorke presents himself as a solo star, the marquee at his Orpheum concert had the same punctuational flourish.
