Surfer Blood & Marnie Stern @ Cameo on NYE (by Abbey Braden /PunkPhoto)
Surfer Blood

Surfer Blood played the Cameo with We Are Country Mice, Beach Fossils, Frankie & The Outs (who played in their swimsuits) and others on New Years Eve. As you can see in the picture above, Marnie Stern (who's been quiet recently show-wise) joined Surfer Blood on stage at the party.

Surfer Blood has quite a bit of tour dates (with interesting tourmates like Monotonix) scheduled between now and SXSW. On Wednesday, January 13th, they'll play a sold-out Bowery Ballroom show with The Drums and Depreciation Guild. They'll also play Brooklyn's Market Hotel on February 27th with Beach Fossils and Grooms, and New York's Mercury Lounge on Sunday, February 28th with We Are Country Mice and Radical Sons. Both NYC shows are also with Turbo Fruits who they'll continue on the road with for a bunch more dates. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 8th at noon for the Manhattan show.

this is the band to hate for 2010 thats for sure...

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 2:40 PM

i think all the other bands outshined them don't know why they were billed as the band

and they completely skipped our NYE countdown, half assed it 10 minutes later

Anyone catch Beach Fossils and We Are Country Mice? Any good?

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 4:42 PM

Beach Fossils are great.Radical Sons will be good at the Mercury with SB. They played with Freelance Whales at pianos in October and were awesome.

I thought they were awesome on NYE. But I later accidentally (drunkenly) took someone else's jacket from coat check. I've since taken it back to the venue. So if your jacket went missing... um, sorry bout that.

Wowwwwwwwwww, it is so cool!!! My friends just recommended an black-white interracial site. Just mingle "Black" "White" "Finder" "." "com" together!! __ It’s a nice place- for Black Women and White Men, or Black Women and- White Men, to interact with each other. Race is- not problem there. You may check out or tell your- friends.

Surfer bloods aight, but right on dynamite is better. so instead of wasting time at mercury tonight, go to the knitting factory for a true rock show. they play at 10:30.
thank you bye

Posted by french Toast | February 28, 2010 12:10 PM

i'm no fan of surfer blood, but right on dynamite have been the shittiest band in brooklyn for a few years now.

Oh, and what about those question marks on Sunday's text in the concert poster below? No, that isn't saving a spot for a Smiths reunion or U2 debut on the Coachella stage, it's the way that Yorke presents himself as a solo star, the marquee at his Orpheum concert had the same punctuational flourish.
