Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Day (the day Gil Scott-Heron plays SOB's). Gil's new video (from his new XL album) below.
Gil's labelmates Vampire Weekend kick off their three night run of NYC shows tonight at United Palace (with Titus Andronicus). Then they go to Webster Hall (with Holly Miranda) followed by Bowery Ballroom (with Nat Baldwin).
Dinosaur Jr. plays their second show in a row tonight with Kurt Vile & The Violators (if you're going, don't miss him!) at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Last night was an awesome shows at Bowery Ballroom. Monday is the same lineup at Brooklyn Bowl.
Kurt Vile also has shows coming up with Fucked Up.
Beth Orton and Sam Amidon play City Winery tonight (and Bell House tomorrow).
City Winery has four Haiti benefit shows coming up. The Bell House has one coming up too.
Sam Amidon recently played a show with Doveman & friends.
