Wilco will play a run of 16 concerts in Eastern U.S. cities beginning in Miami, FL on March 22 and culminating in Pittsburgh, PA on April 11. The concerts are presented as "An Evening with Wilco" and will feature extended, varied sets exploring material from each of the accomplished Chicago sextet's seven studio albums. The tour includes concerts in Clearwater, Savannah, Atlanta, Durham, Richmond, Bethesda, Montclair, Providence, Boston, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, and features Wilco's first concert appearances in the cities of Scranton, PA, Concord, NH and Hartford, CT. Ticket presales for these new dates are set for Wednesday, January 6 at 10 am EST via the band's official website, Wilcoworld.net.
The new set of dates are in addition to many more than 16 that were already announced, and they include two nights in a row (April 2-3) at the Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ. $38.00 tickets for those shows go on general sale Friday, January 8th at 12PM via tickets.com.

are there any frats at Montclair State University, because if so, these shows should do well.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:36 PM

jeff tweedy hates new york city

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:42 PM

They would do well without the frats...What frat boys do you know like Wilco? I doubt many as Wilco does not have any RADIO hits! Ok...anyways

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:43 PM

people still listen to the radio?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:48 PM

Miami Beach?! Euros don't like Wilco.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:49 PM

Montclair has a college?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:51 PM

when will nyc be addeD?

april 1st maybe?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:52 PM

Coachella???

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:54 PM

What's the easiest way to get to Montclair from NYC (using public/cheap transportation)?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:54 PM

decamp bus no.33 from port authority

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:59 PM

Terminal 5 doesn't have anything scheduled for April 1st.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 12:59 PM

that'll be fun!

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 1:08 PM

"Terminal 5 doesn't have anything scheduled for April 1st."

If anything, I think they would play at the Beacon Theatre or Town Hall etc. before Terminal 5.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 1:08 PM

Beacon has been redone...think that would work well!

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 1:16 PM

anyone know if these wellmont shows are going to be GA or reserved?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 1:39 PM

this would've been cool in 1999...

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 1:55 PM

What would have been cool? Seeing them at the Beacon in 99??

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 2:10 PM

Beacon is booked with Cirque du Solei Feb through June I believe. Venue is pretty much going to be long run shows from now on.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 2:30 PM

2:30...wow no kidding...106 Curque Shows booked at the Beacon! Thanks for that info!

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 2:41 PM

As potentially entertaining as that Cirque du Soleil show sounds, I hope its a one-off thing... it doesn't look like any other long productions are booked there.

What would be really cool is if Wilco played at the BAM Gilman Opera House.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 2:46 PM

Wilco at Maxwells. Yup, Yup.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 3:11 PM

SXSW...anyone making a list yet?

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 5:44 PM

no chicago? maybe lolla. anyway, i've had my fill of wilco for a few years at least. good band i guess...going nowhere interesting.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 6:04 PM

this totally made my fucking day. any other NYC-dwellers looking to get to this show, take the brown (boonton/montclair) NJ transit line to Walnut Street. from there, its about a 15 minute walk to the Wellmont.

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2010 6:36 PM

According to an issued press release, the U.S. shows are being billed as “An Evening With Wilco” and will feature “extended, varied sets exploring material” from each of the band’s seven studio albums. Speaking of studio albums, Billboard confirms that the band will be working on album #8 this month. Finally, it appears an appearance at Coachella is also a possibility.....

P.S. April 1st secret show in Brooklyn shhhhhhh

11:38 Hope that means they stop playing Spiders and Shot in the Arm! Woot!

Posted by Anonymous | January 5, 2010 7:19 AM

"anyone know if these wellmont shows are going to be GA or reserved?"

All GA - standing floor or seated balcony

To anyone who's been, what's better?

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 10:11 AM

Floor is better. Presale for the second show is sold out. Looks like you can still get tickets for the first.

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 10:14 AM

how do you access the presale?

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 10:20 AM

http://wilco.frontgatetickets.com/

I actually just snagged a pair of floors for the saturday show.

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 10:21 AM

Easy..got tickets both nights floor. Thanks Front Gate!

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 10:26 AM

Service fees looked great until you got to the shipping page and they force you to do UPS. Still... $18.50 for service fees and shipping for 2 tickets. Not TOO bad. Probably better than tickets.com will be on the Friday general onsale.

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 10:36 AM

All pre sales sold out...

Posted by Anonymous | January 6, 2010 12:05 PM

More presale tickets for both shows available today at noon.

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 11:10 AM

yeah tickets will be available for both NJ shows today at noon, just checked the site

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 11:19 AM

if you want to go to these.. I'd definitely recommend trying the presale today. These shows are going to sell out QUICK. and besides... service fees are better with frontgate than with tickets.com.

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 11:31 AM

got tickets for both nights!
awesomeness!

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 12:02 PM

180 bucks for four tickets
cant beat that!

Posted by Anonymous | January 7, 2010 12:10 PM

WTF. tickets.com rejected my order saying my cc info was incorrect. anyone else have this problem?

Posted by Steve | January 8, 2010 12:12 PM

tickets.com sucks ass. So glad I got mine during the presale. I bet the service fees were pretty nuts too!

Posted by Anonymous | January 8, 2010 12:20 PM

11:38:

really? a secret show in brooklyn? who says?

Posted by Anonymous | January 11, 2010 1:56 AM

I was just at the Miami show last night. It was awesome. They are still playing Spiders and Shot in the Arm but if you don't like those songs you probably shouldn't be at a Wilco concert. They also played Monday, Outtasite Outtamind, and Kamera. And Jeff brought his son Max on stage for a duet. Super adorable.

Also, please please speak more of the Brooklyn show. I have no idea how to get to fucking montclair, nj.
