Black Anvil at Blender (more by Paul Birman)
Black Anvil

Black Anvil has been added to the previously discussed Immortal show on 3/30 at Brooklyn Masonic Temple. Tickets are still on sale in both regular and VIP status. The Immortal show is one of only four US dates dubbed "Blashyrkh in North America 2010".

Normally Black Anvil are (hyper) actively touring/playing shows, but the band has seemingly been laying low as of late, and with good reason. Black Anvil has taken the first few months of the year to finish writing and complete recording of their new LP Triumvirate for Relapse Records! Look for that LP to surface hopefully later this year, but in the meantime look for Black Anvil to also make an appearance at Scion Rock Fest in Columbus, OH on 3/13. Tickets (for the free show) are now sold out.

Full Immortal dates and a video on the making of Triumvirate are below...

The making of Black Anvil's Triumvirate

03.27.10: Toronto, ON - Opera House
03.28.10: Montreal, QC - Metropolis
03.30.10: Brooklyn, NY (18+) - Masonic Temple w/ Black Anvil

Black Anvil...that's a little redundant, isn't it? Kind of like calling a band Red Cardinal, or Snowy Blizzard.

The Black Anvil is a large black anvil in the center of Shadowforge City in Blackrock Depths. Guarded by Lord Incendius, this anvil is required to craft all black iron... WoW

it's got to be intense, just look at that guy.

Posted by iamtheangel.com | February 23, 2010 12:39 PM

Sorry, I find this too funny to not jump in. I assure you that Paul of Black Anvil is not an ape, and in fact, is a human!

Glad to see D.R.I. getting there due. This was the first band I ever saw live way back in 1989. I was in the sixth grade and went with my older brother's friend. It was on the THRASH ZONE tour. Ruled.

The first ever music I purchased were two cassettes, D.R.I's DEALING WITH IT and CROSSOVER. Long live thrash metal.

Great pictures.
Excellent post, thank you very much for taking the time to share with those who are starting on the subject. Greetings
