Crystal Castles @ Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin

Crystal Castles will be in New York on Wednesday, April 14th to play a show at Irving Plaza with Pictureplane. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 19th at noon.
The last time Crystal Castles played the New York-area was at ATP NY in September, before that it was All Points West, and their last club show was New Year's Eve 2008/2009 at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Ooh, Washed Out is deliciously smooth. I don't know if one man electronic goodness will translate into a successful live performance, but the Life of Leisure EP is really something great.
Now back to your regularly scheduled Crystal Castles hate.

I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't enjoy their album, but fuck they are so god awful live and personally such assholes its hard to root for them.

Isn't this the band that falsely accused some guy of stealing their equipment and then cancelled a show at the last minute with a line full of people outside the club?

that guy admitted taking the equipment but it was an accident and he apologized and the show was cancelled because the club was missing speakers. cc invited that band to open for them after that incident so that means they didn't care or the internet made it a big deal that actually wasn't.

The long CC fan comes to their defense. Like a knight in shiny black leather boots.
Assholes or not the music is horrendous.

yeah tha lone cc fan listened to their myspace player 35 million times by himself
Posted by Anonymous | February 17, 2010 8:45 PM
Didn't Frankie used to play drums for them?

Damn I used to love Pictureplane. Bill Cosby was such a great host, and that talking pen. Simply a Great TV Show.

Guggenheim billed it as a performance piece and it was just an installation. Resultingly, the crowd simply waited for the "show" to start, limiting anyone's ability to freely explore the space (the ground floor was packed with indian-style seaters, and the balconies were lined with people holding onto their spots like grim death.

Hey ya'll we lost another one.......but I'm glad to have grown up with gangstarr as representatives of this music that has an incredible history.....hip hop is a book that wrote itself and GURU was definetly one of its main characters.....we are all getting older.....and GURU is one of the MCs that added a soundtrack to our lives in the 80's and 90's.......the NAMES,PLACES and FACES come to mind when I hear a GANGSTARR track.........I thank GOD that he allowed GURU to shine in his short time...........REST IN EVERLASTING PEACE GURU

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...

i was at highline and not williamsburg and the set list posted here seems to fit though I thought they only played 3 songs in the encore (definetely slush and take it in were two of them) though i could be wrong.
