Dan Deacon

Middletown police have yet to release the name of a 22 year-old Bristol man who died when a truck he was riding in went into the Neshaminy Creek early Sunday.

Officer Dan Deacon said investigator Officer David Strother has yet to speak to the man's family and is not releasing the name.

Further details of how the accident occurred also were not available.

What police do know is that the man was in a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck as it was traveling west on Brownsville Road when it lost control at the ridge over the creek, went over a wall and landed upside down in the water just before 2 a.m. [PhillyBurbs.com]

After canceling a November 16th performance at SUNY Purchase due to back problems, musician Dan Deacon has returned to full force. On Saturday, February 20th, the visiting alumnus played late into the night at the Stood Student Center [ed: pronounced "'st(y)ood"]. His set was jam-packed with the crowd participation he's well-known for. Turning the Stood into one massive dance party Deacon seemed at home among the current student body.

Speaking of Purchase, the 2010 edition of their annual Culture Shock Festival is reportedly set to return on April 16th & 17th. Lineup TBA.

He is scheduled to play Saturday, March 20th at Todd P's MtyMx in Monterrey, Mexico, and in June at Bonnaroo.

More pictures from SUNY Purchase and video from his show the night before (2/19) at Baltimore's Ottobar are below...

@6:18
No you don't. He stayed on my ex-girlfriends couch for a week once and the B.O. stench that remained resulted in the couch being burned.

Also, its a scientific fact that there is not enough ecstasy in the world to make this turd's music tolerable. FACT

I never understood this guy's music and its appeal, even in a live setting. Granted I never gave Bromst a listen but everything I head preceding that I found particularly grating.

I wasn't at the Ottobar show, and am thankful, because that also meant not being in Baltimore, a fact itself which is greater than any show that could ever take place there.

He's an "electronic musician." He's a sound designer. He went to college for all this. He knows composition. I think you may need to learn a little more about what music is, before you write off his. 12:57 sounds like an old man. "These young whipper snappers and their crazy noises!"

3:51, yeah there is a very sad reason why Piggy is not in the lineup (RIP) The new guitarist pulls it off perfectly. The challenge will be if he can write, if they choose to make a new album. Piggy was the creative soul of that band and wrote almost everything....

I was checking out setlists from other nights on the tour, they change it up. Some cities got Ravenous Medicine, Experiment, The Prow, Nothingface, Brain Scan, a few others.

It looks like there are a few set parts of the show, and a few spots where they rotate songs.

I was at Ottober show. It was not great. I guess there was lack of energy. But i agree Dan Deacon is a good performer and good player of electronic music.

Guggenheim billed it as a performance piece and it was just an installation. Resultingly, the crowd simply waited for the "show" to start, limiting anyone's ability to freely explore the space (the ground floor was packed with indian-style seaters, and the balconies were lined with people holding onto their spots like grim death.
