Henry Rollins not planning on playing music any time soon, continues on Spoken Word touring (2010 dates)

Henry Rollins

San Diego News Network: Any plans for a return to music?

Henry Rollins: No. I’m not feeling it right now. I rang that bell pretty hard over the years. And I really don’t know how to ring it any better or harder. Now that I’m basically 50, in addition to having to write and record for a new tour, there’d have to be old material as part of it. While I feel it’s good stuff, there’s also a ‘been there, done that’ aspect to it all that I don’t want to go running back to. When I see a band at the airport checking in for a flight, I think, ‘yeah, you go ahead and have fun with that.’ I already went up that trail many times and there’s just not anything new about it for me. I’m not putting it down, it’s just that right now, I’m trying to do new stuff.

Henry Rollins is on a months-long spoken word tour around North America. He visits NYC with two nights at Irving Plaza on March 12th and 13th. Tickets are on sale.

He also plays the NYC-area Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, NY, on March 14th(tickets), and the Boulton Center on Long Island on March 16th (tickets). All dates of his ‘Frequent Flyer’ tour, including Australia in April and South Africa in May, and live videos about mullets and more are below…
