DOWNLOAD: Holly Miranda - Waves (MP3)

Holly Miranda @ Webster Hall in September (more by Bao Nguyen)
Holly Miranda

Holly Miranda is going to be on tour with Tegan & Sara for quite a while after this weekend. Before then, she'll manage to get a few more hometown dates in. On Wednesday, February 10th (tonight), she plays Happy Ending Music & Reading series at Joe's Pub with authors Joshua Ferris, Ron Carlson and Padgett Powell. Tickets are on sale.

She's also playing a free in-store at Other Music on Monday, February 15th (8pm), while Tegan & Sara play a seated show at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

The spacey, enigmatic "Waves" from her upcoming record, The Magician's Private Library, is posted above. That disc comes out February 23rd on XL. She did an acoustic version of the song in a quiet San Francisco living room (with guitarist Timmy Mislock) the day after a show on her tour with the xx and Friendly Fires last November. That's below...

Can't hit it unless you're a chick. Another vastly overrated artist!

Uh. I'm just saying - I hear more about well-known national bands than about any bands from the city except Liturgy, especially considering how many NYC metal bands there are (tons). Go ahead, give me a counterexample. I'm waiting.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
