Keyspan now MCU Park, Giants Stadium being demolished

"Municipal Credit Union (MCU) and the Brooklyn Cyclones today announced a new name for the team's Coney Island ballpark MCU Park. In addition to the naming rights, MCU and the Cyclones entered into a comprehensive 11-year marketing partnership that launches the Cyclones' 10th season in Brooklyn." [PR Newswire]

"The demolition of Giants Stadium in New Jersey started this morning. A crane with a claw gingerly took a bite out of a pedestrian ramp this morning in east Rutherford. The new stadium is already in place, with more than 82,000 seats and 222 luxury suites. Giants Stadium stood for 34 years, hosting football, soccer, concerts, and other events. The new stadium will be the third largest in the NFL, and a concert by Bon Jovi will officially open it in May." [NBC]

Giants Stadium was perfectly fine. It didn't need replacing. Maybe they should have added more suites and a dome (which the new place SHOULD have had)

With the exception of New Orleans, football - like baseball - should NEVER be played indoors.

Oh, and what about those question marks on Sunday's text in the concert poster below? No, that isn't saving a spot for a Smiths reunion or U2 debut on the Coachella stage, it's the way that Yorke presents himself as a solo star, the marquee at his Orpheum concert had the same punctuational flourish.
