Massive Attack

Massive Attack will tour North America for the first time since 2006 in support of their newly released 5th studio album 'Heligoland.' The North American trek will start May 7th at Sound Academy in Toronto, ON and wrap May 30th at the Sasquatch Festival in George, WA. They will play 2 shows in NYC, Los Angeles and San Francisco with general on sale beginning March 5th (full schedule below).
Massive Attack play NYC on May 11th and 12th at Terminal 5. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 5th. Martina Topley-Bird, who is featured on two tracks of their great new album Heligoland, is opening both shows (and presumably singing with the headliner as well) (and probably opening the whole tour).

Heligoland came out in the US February 9th on EMI's Virgin Records. Its other guests include Damon Albarn, Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval, Elbow's Guy Garvey and TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe.

Btw, if you plan on seeing them at Sasquatch you better hurry and get a ticket.

I saw them in Roseland in, I guess it was '06? Terminal 5 can't be terribly worse, and the ticket prices are about the same (and worth it, considering how many guests they have). Hopefully, they'll actually allow photography this time. Looking forward to this.

new album is boring!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2010 4:46 PM

$52? they'd better bring horace AND damon for that kinda dough.

Saw them at the place where they were photographed here: Campo Pequeno (Lisbon, Portugal). Even if the studio output is somewhat stale these days, it was an awesome show.

Horace Andy played with them at their show at Roseland in NY few yrs ago. new song with Guy Garvey from Elbow sucks. really, the best vocalist for their songs is 3D. a lot of the songs with these guest vocalists for massive attack end up sucking, including the ones with Horace Andy. sorry, hope i didn't offend anyone.

New album is stellar! Great choice of guests and Horace Andy's voice is so pleasant to listen to. 3D's vocals, amazing! Boy I love you. See you in NYC both nites!

So why are there two days in a row? Am I gonna miss out on stuff they play the first day if I buy tix for the second day? or will they play the same tracks both days?

They were awsome at the Warfield in San Fran.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
