Band of Horses @ Outside Lands 2009 (more by Chris Graham)
Band of Horses

Band of Horses will be down at SXSW this year. The folk-rockers are set to play two official showcases - one on Thursday, March 18th at Stubb's, and the other on March 19th at Central Presbyterian Church.

They're gearing up for the release of their third record, Infinite Arms, will be released on May 18th. It'll be their first on Brown Records/Fat Possum/Columbia - the band's first two were on Sub Pop. Cover art for that record is below.

Band of Horses have tour dates scheduled through the spring. On those, they'll share bills with the not-too-shabby likes of She & Him, Snow Patrol and Widespread Panic. In addition, Band of Horses will be opening all but one of the shows on Pearl Jam's US tour this May. The bands play Madison Square Garden on May 21st. The Black Keys (who play Central Park SummerStage this July) open Pearl Jam's show the day prior (5/20) also at MSG. Tickets go on Pearl Jam fan club presale March 16th at 3pm and 6pm for the MSG shows (others start March 15 at noon). General sale starts March 20th.

Pearl Jam performed on SNL on Saturday night (March 13th) - video from that and all tour dates are below...

guesses on May 18th show?

Is Mat Brooke back with BOH? If so, is Grand Archives no more?

Posted by donn | March 15, 2010 9:33 AM

The 5/18 "TBD" date will either be a second Boston date, or possibly Albany...but those are just my guesses

Posted by Funderburgh | March 15, 2010 9:40 AM

Probably the Comcast center in Mansfield Mass.

@10:45

it makes no sense for them to deconstruct the entire TD North venue to play a show the next night ~50 miles south at an amphitheater (which probably would require a different stage setup anyway). They'd play Providence or Mohegan Sun before that (and I think those are both highly unlikely).

I hope BoH comes back around and does some solo dates, too. I will unfortunately have to miss the PJ shows.

Mat hasnt been in the band since first record. He didnt even tour with them. Pic above is of Tyler Ramsey who contributed to the new record for the first time as a full time member.

I am sure they will play NYC more than once this year outside of PJammy dates

79 bucks for msg! pearl jam, you're a fucking joke. sick of bands trying to empty their fan's pockets like this.

"This is going to be our fake last song and also our most famous one too," Bridwell joked before launching into a stirring rendition of "The Funeral".

Roots rockers Band of Horses performs at the Joint at the Hard Rock along with special guest Admiral Radley and Darker My Love.

Band of Horses is widely considered to be one of the most important young American bands out there.

This year has been fortunate for Band of Horses. Although its received a mixed bag of acclaim, Infinite Arms stands as the group’s best selling album to date.

The first time I saw Band of Horses, they were playing in Club Sound while some other, lesser band was headlining the In the Venue "big" stage next door...Very impressive

Wow they got on with Pearl Jam that's huge.

Guggenheim billed it as a performance piece and it was just an installation. Resultingly, the crowd simply waited for the "show" to start, limiting anyone's ability to freely explore the space (the ground floor was packed with indian-style seaters, and the balconies were lined with people holding onto their spots like grim death.
