Cold Cave @ Glass House in Pomona, CA on February 17th (Darryl Leung)
Cold Cave

"Eisold led a performance teeming with brooding melancholy and Cold Cave managed to transform Pomona's Glass House into Factory Records' Hacienda in Manchester of the mid 80's. Hits like "Love Comes Close" and "Life Magazine" garnered the expected excitement and thumping feet from the crowd, but the standout performances were "I.C.D.K." and "Theme From Tomorrowland," which displayed Fernow's understanding of the dark wave style but implementing his own take on the genre. Caralee MacElroy Jennifer Clavin's feminine touch to the group adds a touch of delicacy to the tracks, a bit of fragility that singer Eisold mirrored." [OC Weekly]
Cold Cave will bring their new Mika Miko-enhanced lineup (see above) to NYC for a show on Thursday, April 29th at (Le) Poisson Rouge. Tickets are on sale.

the OC weekly article is incorrect. Jennifer Clavin from Mika Miko performed with Cold Cave at their recent CA dates.

"Jennifer Clavin from Mika Miko performed with Cold Cave at their recent CA dates."

Nobody is saying she didn't

They are also playing a free show in New York before the LPR show but it hasn't been announced yet

so is Caralee out?

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2010 11:51 AM

they replaced her with an Ipod

No, they still have almost all of the electronics on the ipod.

But the real sad part is that the Moog has been replaced with a Micro-Korg. Yuck.

Also: "Cold Cave managed to transform Pomona's Glass House into Factory Records' Hacienda in Manchester of the mid 80's"?! Thanks OC Weekly...

That Fernow always knows how to capitalize on a certain genre like "noise" and dark bubblegum.

"But the real sad part is that the Moog has been replaced with a Micro-Korg. Yuck."
Will they replace their microphones with telephones?

I like this band but I wonder sometimes if they are ever going to go somewhere or if they are just going to disappear at the end of the year to never return.
